Hi - I have pre-diabetes and doctor agreed with me that I could go on a low carb diet, (50 carbs a day). I would like to get the carbs between 30 and 60 a day. if I were to calculate my macros, what would the fat and protein numbers be when I set my goals here on MFP? The carbs are set at 15% but I don't know the other numbers (they add up to 100%). Thanks for your help!

It's going to very based on calorie goal, your current stats and you personals goals outside of beating pre-diabetes. It would be suggested that higher amounts of protein is beneficial during weight loss to maintain muscle and metabolic functions.

Your fat % should be highest.

I'm useless on low carb diets but I'll find a link for you to the low carb group.

Those are also ketogenic macros, which just means it is a very low crab high fat diet.

Try a macro TDEE calculator. These are a good:

Most low carbers keep their protein moderate unless they are very active and trying to gain muscle. Modearate is typically 20-25% although some gp a bit lower or higher.

Fat fills in the rest. Somewhere between about 50% up to 85%.

My macros are about 5% carbs, 20% protein and 75% fat.
