I grew up Catholic, but now consider myself a Spirit-led Christian who appreciates the meaning of Lent. I need to give up my easy frustration response for life, but I'm starting with giving that up for Lent.

Well I'm not really religious but I gave up a lot for lent. Only buying stuff without known terrible business products. So no Coles/Woolworths though I am still doing riteprice and aldi because rite-price is just excess stock and aldi treats its workers well... Luckily Adelaide Markets is really good. I can get meat, fruit, veg, tofu, non-sus takeout there. All inspired by the whole 'don't support bullets' thing.

This is going to be a hard 6 and a half weeks.

I almost always use flavorings in my water, so I gave that up for Lent and am just drinking plain water.

My husband. He's a pastor and I won't see him much until after Easter. I'll know he's still alive because food and beer will disappear from the fridge.

"Rend your hearts, not your garments."

I've given up eating after dinner - it's become a crutch for me, something I've looked forward to. Also giving up sweetener in my coffee.

I've also taken on an individual task of being grateful for specific people. Each day of Lent I'm going to take someone and be especially thankful for them and pray for them.

LOL, those Baptist pastors are always doing that.

He's not Baptist... but I'll take your word for it. :)
