What. Is. This.?? I see it everyday and the only thing I can even maybe see is arm wrestling? But.....that can't be right, right? No one has ever used it while I've been there so I have never seen it in action.

I posted in fun and games in hopes that it would elicit a more humorous response but I also actually want to know what it is, lol. Any weird *kitten* things at your gym that you couldn't figure out at first glance?

ooohh.....but....what's the extra handle that's absent from your picture then though? I guess that's what's throwing me off.

That supports the weight when not in use. Lift the weights and pull the handle out (to the right). When you're done, return the handle to the original position and set the weights down.

The extra handle HOLDS the weight in the "UP" position. Kinda of like when you rack the weights after a squat or leg press. Because calves can take a heavy load (they are the DENSEST muscle fibers in the body per square inch), trying to hold all that weight in the "BOTTOM" position after exercising them can lead to injury. The handle moves side to side.

I fully understand now! Great job guys! But you left out all the funnies. Oh-well, maybe that's my bad for putting you all under that type of pressure.

From the top. It definitely sits on the floor.

It's a dorsiflexion exerciser. You stick your foot in (toes under the pad) and then bring your toes towards your shin. This strengthens the muscle that's in your shin area and muscle around the ankle.
