Absolutely. I find I average about 54% Carbs with 30% fat and 16% protein. I also usually eat at least one treat a day that contains refined sugar (shock, horror!!) I do usually burn >500cals in exercise though.

I love me some carbs!!! I try to get 90% of my carbs from healthy foods like while grains, fruits, and veggies but try and leave room for one sweet treat per day. IMO, life without peanut butter cookies and chocolate cake isn't a life worth living.

Yep. I frequently go over the MFP sugar and carb limits. I lost 50 lbs two years ago that way...and I've lost 15lbs so far this year doing it that way too.

    Key is restricting calories...not carbs

Lost 70 lbs eating carbs. Counted calories, counted points, ate carbs the whole time. Carbs aren't the enemy, caloric surplus is.

Yep. I could never give up carbs. I'm down to 136 from 173 since Septemberish.

How many calories do you eat a day? That's awesome :)

Thanks :) Started out about 1750, right now 1380. I am like 1lb from goal weight, so ready to go to maintenance.

Yes. Carbs, fats and proteins. Tend to eat whatever I like within reason@pantry, refrigerator, freezers and local grocery run.

#Consider buying a food scale ... Takes the guess work out of it.

My husband lost weight by merely cutting back on the amount of chips and dip he ate. My friends husband lost 15 lbs by eliminating soda. I have to full on calorie count every day to lose a stinking pound.

Yes. I love carbs. That said, I make sure to prioritise protein and fats, so when calories need to be reduced, it is generally carbs that get lowered to maintain sufficient protein and fat.

You know how my hubby did it... He added breakfast and walked a bit more here and there. And here i am walking my butt off and counting every single solitary calorie, which is something he reeefuses to do, not that he needs too anyway!!

Yeah. As long as you consume calories within the limit you've set and work out, you're good!

It's working for me! Just changing some bad habits, drinking lots of water, and staying under my calorie goal (usually). It's a slow process, but it does work if you stick with it. I find that it's easier to stick with it if I'm not restricting myself horribly and it becomes torture (aka, a DIET). Just small changes here and there and paying attention to what you're eating.

I eat anything. Create a deficit, that easy. You'll learn how to balance for your hunger needs and body.

Yep! I've lost 30+ pounds eating 33-66% of my meals as carbs. I try to split my calorie plate in thirds, make one part meat or dairy, another part veggies or fruit, and the other third whatever I want. More often than not, that part is veggie, fruit or starch.

I eat at a modest deficit daily and eat back the calories I burn in exercise. And I breastfeed and ensure I consume the calories my daughter gets from me. I eat roughly 300 calories above my TDEE (more if I've exercised more that day) and yes this is a modest deficit for me when accounting for breastfeeding.

I haven't had any success with starchy carbs in my diet. I eat my carbs thru vegetables sauteed in healthy fats with a side of proteins.

Overeating your calories is really all that matters. BUT! There are more calories in a bread roll than in a salad, so you just face the choice of quality over quantity! Consider having some toast...usually it has less calories than other carb laden foods. Think about having one carb a day...maybe at dinner time? Carbs are a must have for healthy brain function, but there's no need to have 57 donuts in the car! :) Good luck!

I've never done low carb. I've lost weight- not tons- but over 10 lbs. (I didn't have a lot to lose)

Absolutely! I lost 55 lbs eating a relatively high carb diet.

It all comes down to eating fewer calories than you burn.

Why, yes. I eat all the good foods. I measure first though.
