Intermittant Fasting???

Hi, not really new...just "back". I'm working with a doctor and a dietician -- but I'm doing intermittent fasting (5:2) to get me out of my pre-diabetes (again!). Anyone else doing intermittent fasting? Today is my first fasting day and strangely enough I'm normally not hungry in the mornings, but ironically today I am starving. I'm very sure I'm not starving, it's completely psychological.

Any tips or tricks for helping with fasting days?

First few days might be hard but you will get used to it. I noticed to have more energy when fasting.

I used to do this all the time when i didn't care about what i was eating. I wouldn't eat much during the day, then binge at night because i was starving by then. I've played with it on and off since i've been calorie counting and realised that it doesn't work well for me. I don't have the stamina to do a good workout in a fasted state, and it doesn't help my weight loss goal at all. Consistent nutrition, keeping my blood sugar constant by eating is what works for me. My husband was listed as pre diabetic a bunch of years ago and we turned it around by eating more, yes, more. Eating more regularly and eating cleanly. He dropped weight without effort and has not been on any meds for over 6 years now. He had a bunch of blood work done for insurance last year and it didn't turn up anything, so is still our formula for health.
