I'm nerdy in a classic literature sort of way. I also like math and science. My goal is to be a true Renaissance woman ;)

What did Odysseus use to clean his palace after killing Penelope's suitors?

(I only know this because it was a 9th grade quiz question that seemed to come out of the blue, I still remember it)

Do you mean sulfur? Or the way he made his servants clean everything up and then hung them outside in the courtyard?

That's literature, now do some math and science. Then it will be official, you will be a Renaissance woman.

What would you like to know?

It's either 96 or 40, depending on your interpretation. However, if you decide on the running total interpretation of 40, you can also get 96 if you fill in the missing equations.

    That leaves science.

I'm at least semi-nerd. I teach English and love graphic novels, Legend of Zelda (and a lot of older games), Star Wars, AND GAME OF THRONES!

Shameless plug (because I'd really like some conversation / debate) for those who wouldn't mind reading my nerdy, strong opinions and weighing in. It's a review of the season finale of GoT. If you have a moment, tell me what a nerd I am. And sorry for the shameless plug / interruption.

    Nerd on.

By the by, saw an episode of Harmon Quest at the Adult Swim on the Green Tour they just pulled off (had the pleasure of working it). That was one hilarious and absolutely bizarre show.

    1+4=5
    (5)+2+5=12
    (12)+3+6=21
    (21)+8+11=40

    I guess

Both answers are correct depending on your interpretation

    a + b means a + ab

    1 + 4 means 1 + 1(4) = 5
    2 + 5 means 2 + 2(5) = 12
    3 + 6 means 3 + 3(6) = 21
    8 + 11 means 8 + 8(11) = 96

I guess it could be 40, all depends on whether or not there's missing equations...

If you are skipping all the way to 8+11=96... If there are no other equations, I suppose 40...

    I figured
    1+4x1
    2+5x2
    3+6x3
    8+11x8=96

    (77)+8+11=96

I see it. You guys are smart.

I guess it could be 40, all depends on whether or not there's missing equations...

If you are skipping all the way to 8+11=96... If there are no other equations, I suppose 40...

    I figured
    1+4x1
    2+5x2
    3+6x3
    8+11x8=96

You can get 40 by adding the sum of the previous equation to the next equation.

    1 + 4 = 5
    5 + 2 + 5 = 12
    12 + 3 + 6 = 21
    21 + 8 + 11 = 40

The fun thing about the 40 answer interpretation is that if you fill in missing lines you can also get 96.

    1 + 4 = 5
    5 + 2 + 5 = 12
    12 + 3 + 6 = 21
    21 + 4 + 7 = 32
    32 + 5 + 8 = 45
    45 + 6 + 9 = 60
    60 + 7 + 10 = 77
    77 + 8 + 11 = 96

On Friday, 1 September 2017, Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley travelled to King's Cross station with their three children, James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. Ron and Hermione were also there, as well as Draco Malfoy and son Scorpius.

Today’s the day the epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows takes place.
