Unless your planning on chopping of your legs or something. Which I wouldn't recommend.30 -

Lol yea well Im not a big fan of leg day so I think that could be an option21 -
I disagree. The answer is yes if you are 800 lbs or so25

No.2

Probably if you have a few hundred pounds to lose. Those people on my 600-lb life can do it - but for the average person - nope. Not even close unless you want to be extremely unhealthy or remove a limb as suggested above.10

More like 30 pounds in 30 weeks.25

Don't do that to yourself. It's not about "fast." It's about sustainable and maintainable. 10 lbs/month is plenty, and may even be too much depending on your circumstances.15

Weight loss works by creating a calorie deficit.
To lose 1lb a day you would have to cut your calories by 3500 a day. Now the minimum you should eat a day is 1500 net.
Weight loss is simple math and your maths don't add up.
What's the hurry?5 -
So how much can the average person lose in that amount of time0
-
I did
I gave birth to a 10 lb baby and lost a total of 51 lbs in 6 weeks33 -

On the high end (for those with 100+ to lose), 2 lbs per week.1

No hurry really I'm just tired of the extra weight and I want to be able to take my shirt off this summer not keep it on

Most overweight people can lose 1-2 lbs a week safely. So in 1 month = 4 weeks = 4-8 lbs. If you have less weight to lose, it's even harder to shift 4 lbs in a month.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lb/week is ideal
If you have 15-25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lb/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lb/week is ideal6 -

If that's the goal then quick weight loss is the last thing you want. You will lose muscle.
Just work out your TDEE and eat 500 calories below it. Keep hitting your protein goal and keep lifting. Including legs7 -

For what it's worth, I'm pretty much never offended by a guy with his shirt off, whatever shape he may be in. I know your perception of yourself is more important in that regard, but just throwing it out there.
Also, losing that much, that fast, could just leave you looking sickly (again, not that I care). Maybe start now and aim for next summer?

Unless you are on My 600 LB life, no, it's not going to be possible. It's a bad idea to even try it.3

I am 234, 5'11, 37, Male and lightly active. I've been dropping about 3.2lbs per week lately and that's losing a lot of weight very quickly. Unless you are 350+, what you're talking about would likely F you up.. Cut your calories to 1750-1900, don't starve yourself, eat quality foods, reduce added sugars and let the rest work itself out. But even then you are looking at 10-14 lbs / month.5

Yeah, probably should have started last year. Good news is, when you're where you want to be next year you can confidently take your shirt off for the rest of your life, assuming you maintain the loss. Perspective.7

If you have 20-30lbs to lose, then 1lb a week maximum should be your goal.
Set your profile up on MFP with the correct stats. Use a food scale to weigh all your solids and measuring cups/spoons for your liquids. Learn how to log accurately.
Get on a well-balanced resistance training program (yes, that includes legs) and in a few months, you could make some good progress when beach time rolls around.

Well I'm 6ft 235 pounds and I want to at least lose 20-30
20 lbs: ~4-5 months.
Does knowing how long it will take make it less important to start? If you work hard you could hit your goals this fall. On the way to your goals you will look and feel better every day. You will then be at your goal bod for all future summers if you are diligent. Don't sweat this 1 summer.

Given your current stats and your goal, I wouldn't even think of trying to lose the weight in a hurry. I would focus on maintaining a reasonable deficit and start lifting heavy. That will get you where you want to be.2
-
I wouldn't recommend it. If you want aim for 0.5 pounds a week with the maximum of 1 pound weight loss.
Good luck!1 -
Try not to focus so much on the number. Eat at a slight deficit and get some strength training going. You may not see a huge change in the scale, but the strength training will help you look and feel way better.
And yeah, leg day sucks. But skipping it sucks even more!2 -
Well that was an amusing thought. At 209 pounds my matinence is around 2000. Not only would I have to not eat ever, but I would also have to burn 1400-1500 calories in the gym every day.
Yeahhhhh no I'm fine with 1.5-2 pounds a week3
