4700 calories is very easy for me to eat most days.
Also, it can still be a binge if it's planned out. lol. I've planned out many binges in my day. It's awful, but planning does not negate it being a binge.6 -
So you're saying you are planning a big bike ride which means it would be wise fuelling up your body after a mega calorie burn. Please don't binge, it's unhealthy. You would probably regret it afterwards anyway. Just feed your body the extra food it needs to replace the high calories burned.
But to answer your question yes, you can bank calories.1 -
4700 would be extremely doable for me, yeah, but most of it would have to be from bread/sweets, or I'd probably be too full.1

I've eaten back more than my calories after a 20 mile run, by going out to dinner and drinking a couple of beers and having dessert, but I don't think I've eaten more than about 3300 total since I started logging.1

That last part....how you miss your old habits. It's a slippery slope because old habits come back quick. If I could fit that many calories in without gaining or feeling overly stuffed sick I would in a heartbeat, but I personally don't like that feeling so I wouldn't do it. Everyone's different and handles those overeating situations differently so try it out and see how it works for you.

I don't think I've eaten more than 3300 since I started logging 1.5 years ago, and even that involved a couple slices of Deep Dish Pizza.1

Sounds like a binge. That would be extraordinarily difficult for me. I could maybe get to 3000 with some effort, but anything more than that I'd probably be feeling a little ill...3

LOL all answers are all differently opinionated :P I just post it there to find out people opinions and hoe they react on that gruesome calorific day maybe some of here is excited of what 4700 cals can give them to a happy full day and some here are not interested because it can blow there calorie budget for a week lol im a bit weird but anyways thanks for those good opinions. I dont like disliking opinions thumbs up1

I don't "try" to eat 4700 calories in a single day but I can easily eat 4700 calories in one meal, by eating at a buffet, an entire pizza with toppings, a family meal at some fast food place by myself, etc.0

I don't think it's that much because I am bulking and eating a lot of cals anyways. So I guess it will depend on your goal or how much you are used to eating. However 4700 everyday for 8 months would be pretty tough and frustrating, for me at least.. oof.0

And it could get expensive..4 -
My highest daily calorie target was 6502 - sadly only managed to eat 4855 on the day.
(Hilly 9 hour cycle ride with approximate calorie burn of 4502).
I went over the next day by 980 cals to compensate.4 -

if you think you may struggle to eat so much in one day, dont bank so many calories next time!
i don't think i'd struggle especially if booze was included!

4700 in 1 day?
Easy! And most likely you'd even go to bed hungry:
Visit the next McD and for breakfast order:
1 large Coke
1 Cheeseburger
1 Fries (large)
1 Double Quarter-pounder w Cheese
1 Frappé Chocolate Chip
This sums up to 2,630 kcals and was "only" breakfast, in the early afternoon you'd be hungry again and are ready for the next round. How about a visit at a PizzaHut?
Banking in calories is easy as long as you don't care about health, just raise the high-energy foods (fat / carbs). One normal sized tortilla (without anything else) already has 200 kcals.5 -
I hit 5500 last Xmas. I ate a lot of chocolate, desserts/sweets. I was quite satisfied and not hungry.2

I'm maintaining on over 3,000 calories most days. Adding 1,700 calories to that wouldn't be difficult. But I'm not very big on the "banking calories" thing. I don't like feeling stuffed after I've eaten. I prefer to eat what I need when I need it.2

I did during my bulk recently but not at the moment.1

Athletes (such as yourself) often need to eat this much. I mean, cycling at a moderately fast pace can easily burn 800kcals/hour, which is similar for a moderately hard hike. You need at least 2000kcals/day just to breath (more for you youngsters). So 2700kcals is just an additional 3.4hrs of cycling/hiking. Not something I do every day, but at least a few times a year.
If you're out there all day burning it, you gotta eat it back! I note that a pound of Costco "Kirkland" trail mix has 1814kcals.3 -

Right? 4,700 calories is NOTHING. It's like an 18" pizza...or a smaller one with some sides some soda and a dessert lol. I can easily eat that in one sitting...5 -

I typically try to spread my calories for big workout days among several days. I frontload a bit to make sure I am fueled for the workout, and then I'll cover some of the additional deficit the following day or two if I'm still under for the week.
4700 in a day isn't very difficult though. Note that I ran a marathon this day, and had eaten almost 5000 calories the day before as well. 5'10", currently maintaining at my running race weight of 148 lbs, so it's not like I'm a big guy.

this looks my day before ironman menu0

And you STILL didn't hit your protein on that 9000 calories.8
-
Do you want to eat those calories on a healthy and clean diet? I guess it is much harder then. Fats has the most calories, so avocado, oils and nuts can help you, although I don't know if its enough for 4700. If you like to eat a lot, big portions of pasta, rice, meat, potatoes can also help.
I guess I can easily collect 4700 on weekends when I eat processed foods and meals outsides + desserts, but it is definitely not healthy0 -

I'm cracking up over these 2 posts. I also agree that 4700 is pretty easy for me sadly.0
