How the hell do you curb carbs. I've significantly cut my intake but I still find myself over my carb macros when I don't eat actual bread products. Help!

Edit: I normally get sick eating too many carbs. Even though it is fuel, just looking for alternatives for energy in the gym, and carbs seem to be in everything!

Pre log your day. Build your meals around the protein.

Look at your diary, identify the higher carbohydrate items, eat less of those.

Alternatively, determine if you have a reason to limit carbohydrates. If you don't, just focus on meeting your needs for protein and fat and let the carbohydrates worry about themselves.

whats wrong with carbs. My nutritionist told me to eat low carb because i have pcos or i wont lose weight. I was miserable. Second i said screw you i want the carbs and refocused my diet i lost 100 pounds (as of today in just under a year :D ) I eat bread and potatoes daily. And alot of carb heavy veg. Yum

Carbs are just another macro, And an important one they fuel your activity. Theres some people who do beter eating low carb because it can help stop cravings, But on the other end of the scale i imagine you fit if youve been reaching for carb heavy food even when trying not to your with me. Eat the carbs, Just within your calories. Carbs are not the devil they are delicious delicious fuel.

Is there a medical reason you need to limit carbs? Because weight loss is calorie deficit first, second, & always. Plenty of people lose weight without eliminating anything from their diet.....they just watch portions.

If you like low carb or medically need low carb.....there might be some answers here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

Well, you're keeping a diary...so you can just look at those items that are heavier on the carbs and cut back on them...or not, there's nothing inherently wrong with carbs.
