Success/struggles of the week: Well, the birthday indulgences were planned. Hopefully it will drop back off fairly quickly though TOM is due any day now so that might delay things a little.
A struggle was with stamina. I have a 5K on Saturday and my running stamina last week was a lot lower than usual. I had to cut a few of my runs in half. I've been struggling for a few weeks now with both strength and stamina and feeling like I take a lot longer to recover. Not sure what that's about.2 -

Success/struggles of the week: I had a really good week. I think I am finally maintaining. My weight fluctuated as usual, but my trendweight stayed at 125.3 all week and only went up to 125.5 over the weekend. I am going to try to just keep an eye on that trend and hope that it stays the same.3 -

Success/struggles of the week: increased my calories by ab 200 and down two lbs in a week. New to maintenance. I was hoping to maintain at 140 but see there is a range so I decided to try and maintain between 135 and 140. I was scared of maintenance and think it will be hard but I know I can do it! Happy to find this thread3 -
@macchiatto I, too, have struggled with stamina in running the past few weeks. Stick with it. I pushed through whatever it was - spring?, time change? in a rut? Whatever, I seem to be back on track and know you will be as well.3

Success / struggles of the week: I'm dropping down my maintenance range, I've seen the scale go down to 144.6 (just to bounce somewhat up, of course ). I would like to be able to go below 140, and see how i would feel once i get there. I'm still going to be in the normal bmi range. I've been spending more time on my bike since the days are much longer now, riding after work and on the weekends. The lighter i am, the more fun it is. I'm improving my stats as well, really happy about that. So I'm really motivated to lower my weight a little more and see how that would work for me.7 -

Successes/challenges of this week:
Successes: Continuing with a slight downward trend in the weight. Was able to take 3rd place in my division (out of four) in my Stand Up Paddleboard race last weekend despite some light chop and pretty windy conditions.
Challenges: Still struggling with macro balance. Was very unmotivated to get my workouts in this week. Only one paddle yesterday and some cleaning today. Have another race tomorrow.
I posted this to my newsfeed, and I thought I'd share parts of it here...
So, this photo is the progress from my past year of being on MFP. A few more days, and I'll be at my MFP first year anniversary, so I thought I'd post it to celebrate. I continue to be amazed that just counting calories was what worked for me instead of all those restrictive diets I'd been trying since my 30's.
Steady loss from May 2016 - October 2016. Had a couple of stalls in October and December 2016. Moved into maintenance starting in January 2017 with a reverse deficit until March 2017 (so a continued bit of loss). Minor bump up in Mar/Apr due to lower cardio/exercise, but back on track in Apr/May as racing season has started.
... I personally find maintenance is harder than losing as it is difficult to change your mindset after being rewarded for losses and wanting to continue to achieve those rewards. You don't see the same rewards for maintenance. And honestly, some days it's hard to believe I'm in maintenance after thinking for so long I'd never get back to this weight after so many failed restrictive diet programs over the past couple of decades. I'm back to the weight I was in my 20's!
...Be blessed and have a wonderful weekend!5 -

Success/struggles of the week: So - it's official - I've struggled again this week so I'm going back to logging all of my calories, for the time being at least! I refuse to see this as a failure though.... instead I'm going to use the opportunity to cut back to a small deficit and finally get back down to the lower end of my maintenance range (I've been saying I would do that since Christmas!!). So good timing really - summer bikini here we come!4 -

Name: Jen
Age: 45
Height: 5'2.5"
Total Weight lost:140lbs
Time it took to lose: 2.75yrs
How I lost it: My story
How long in maintenance : I declared it at 140 in January 2016, but that was too high for a petite lady. Redeclared it 4/14/17.
Maintenance weight range: Would like to stay under 125 at morning weigh-in.
Ongoing struggle: I still need to learn to trust my body cues, be content with eating just enough, and stop asking food to be more than just fuel. Life after work is just filled with getting steps and eating food to fill my evening. Really need to make peace with having fewer cals to work with. Contentment and an attitude of gratitude (and maybe a hobby) are the order of the day. (Update: I am taking a class in sign language for work, but I think I might go further with it than just the basics that my job requires.)
January avg weight: 126.8lbs
February avg weight: 126.1lbs
March avg weight: 124.6lbs
April avg weight: 122.9lbs

1st May: 123.9lbs
8th May: 123.6lbs

29th May:
Success of the week: Again, chose the grocery store over a restaurant.
Challenges of the week: Weight has started to drop again since I dialed my cals back.(I was enjoying those extra cals so much, too!) I expect it is mostly a result of less waste and sodium. Will see how things look next month. Am definitely noticing how my Charge HR picks up wrist motions, esp when signing. Have started removing it when studying for class!

15th May: 131.2, even though TOM is here and I had some MD weekend indulgences. I'll take it.
Success/struggles of the week: I did make it through my 5K race. Didn't hit my goal time (was hoping to PR) but considering recent stamina struggles and that my training plan was overly ambitious considering I've only been running again for a couple of months, I'm OK with that. I did shave off 1:22 from my April 8 5K time and placed third in my age group.6 -

Success/struggles of the week: My actual weight is a little below my range this morning, but my trend is still 125.4 so I am in my range. I have been dealing a lot this week with family members telling me I am obsessive and/or I need to gain back some weight. I really don't think that 125 is too low for my frame. I think they just are used to seeing me at 195. I think what frustrates me most is that I do not want to lose any more, so people telling me I don't need to lose just makes me feel bad. I'm not trying to lose and I'm not trying to be obsessive. I am still logging because I am trying to make sure that I am hitting my calorie goal. It doesn't really help that my fitbit seems to underestimate my calorie burn by about 200 cals per day. So everyday on fitbit I am in the red because it says I have gone over my calories. I set my goal on mfp to 2100 instead of the 1650 it gives me and I do try to eat back most of my exercise adjustment even though I kind of think if I set my goal manually I should just eat that and ignore the exercise adjustment. I have considered not logging, but I have to admit that kind of scares me. I am afraid I will gain and afraid I will lose. I don't want to do either, I just want to maintain. Sorry for the little rant. It has just been a frustrating weekend.6 -

Success/struggles of the week: I’m scared of gaining the weight back and also scared of maintenance as I’ve never maintained a loss. Even though it isn’t much weight it feels like a ton, especially when I’m running. And being that I’m petite it is so hard to lose! In the past I’ve gained weight back because of deciding to not track and arguing to myself that I don’t want to count calories forever. What’s different this time? I’ve decided I don’t gain and lose the same weight over and over again...forever! So now I am taking this whole thing much more seriously and have had maintenance on the brain from the start.
I’m going on vacation for a few days Memorial Day weekend and decided to eat at maintenance. I’d be thrilled to come back to no weight gain!
Thanks for starting this thread!

@NicholeAckerman I, too, had trouble finding a way to make maintenance work. I kept losing weight for several months. I finally stopped worrying about it and eventually settled into my "me" weight. I bounce around now between the same 3 or 4 pounds. I feel good and my clothes fit. Best wishes.2

Struggle: Trying to enjoy social eating without breaking the calorie bank.
Success: Avoiding alcohol except for 1 small glass of wine at one dinner.
I've been trying to decide when I should begin maintenance because I haven't quite gotten to where I want to be. I reached my original goal of 150 1-1/2 years ago and then decided to lose 5 this year, It was fairly easy so I decided to lose 5 more but I'm so pleased with where I am that I could very happily stay at this weight. I would like to tone and tighten. I stumbled upon this thread and saw that you all have a maintenance range and I thought it may be time for me to begin, so here I am. This will keep me accountable and on track. I don't want to gain any of it back, I am enjoying my new wardrobe too much!9 -

Success/struggles of the week:
Struggle: I have a lot of anxiety about increasing my carb intake to transition into maintenance. Looking at the (relatively) high number after months of successfully losing with low carbs has really made me nervous, even though I know logically that it is not a problem
Success: went to a baby shower and showed surprising restraint. Ate a reasonable portion of baked ziti and eggplant parm and didn't feel the need to take advantage of the free food like I used to in social settings. Took on the FOMO head on! Can't believe it7
