Warning about strength training

It can lead to severe embarrassment....Today after a full body work out with my personal trainer, I decided to bring my dogs for a walk. 6pm, rush hour traffic on the road. You probably know where this is going. I was sore prior to leaving the house (arms, back and shoulders were weak). Anyways, another dog approaches growling, my two dogs try to protect me. Me having no strength in my arms and shoulders to hold back my dogs, ends up face planting the ground, cutting my hands and knuckles, swelling to both knees and a getting a deep laceration to one of my knees. Currently in bed, dosed on pain relief, throbbing knees and hands and a bruised ego. Moral of the story... Don't leave your house after a heavy session!!!!

I caught a double hitter for baseball the afternoon/night after a squat PR the morning of last summer. Ended up getting a ricochet foul ball off my cup the size of a watermelon on my inside thigh.1

One time in college I was asked to join a pick up basketball game about an hour after upper body day. The 1st time I went to shoot and air balled it by 5 ft I knew I was in trouble. Passing, dribbling, (I stopped shooting) took so much more effort because my arms were shot.0

Last Saturday I had my heavy deadlift workout in the morning. In the afternoon we had my daughter's birthday party at a climbing wall. I climbed and actually did decently but I have never been so completely exhausted. I'm pretty sure that I nodded off in the car on the way home and I definitely was dead to the world as soon as I lay down on the couch once we got home.0

I can't count the number of times i stumbled in the parking lot trying to get in/out of my car after a rough leg session.3

I've farted on my hot strength and conditioning coach in college who was spotting me while maxing out.15

I did an arm workout with my trainer today and advised I couldn't strain my forearms too much as I have lots of gin to drink this weekend. Suppose I could just use a straw and not lift the glass.10

Nope. I quite often do maximal effort power lifting days immediately followed by 8-10 hour shifts of labour intensive work0

After a heavy leg session (long time ago when I was younger), I was washing dishes in my kitchen when my quads started to quiver with such an intensity that I ended kneeling on the kitchen floor and barely holding to the front of the sink. My oldest boy came running thinking that I was passing out (not far from the truth) and helped me up and walked me toward a chair. The next day, my glutes started to go on fire and using the toilet was a torture.
It took me several days to recovery, and I told the trainer never to put me in that situation again.0 -
After a grip-heavy workout, I tried to go grocery shopping for a couple of things. I didn't use a basket or a cart and proceeded to fumble everything in my arms. Several times before getting to the till. Ha ha.0

Super new to strength training, I keep starting and stopping and still use machines. I had just finished doing some chest presses and something with my legs (I don't even know) well cardio is downstairs.. And down the stairs I went. My legs just gave up walking down the stairs and my shoulder slammed into a arm rail and I tumbled down the stairs.
I went home and hot showered my embarrassment away5 -
I opened a door after arm workout but way too hard and door slam echoed in the parking garage so loud that the other guy behind me leaving from gym got startled and thought I was pissed. Oops2

there's a fridge where i work that is just silly. it's like goliath's coffin standing on end - probably 7 feet tall and almost four feet wide, with a door that i just never get right. either i'm so feeble from a recent arms day that i just pull myself off my feet, or i'm all braced and bulletproof and i fall over backwards instead. the only plus is, it's probably bolted into the wall behind it so at least i'm not going to crush myself under it on a strong day.
i never, ever get my degree of attack for that door calibrated.6 -
Haha. Some classics in there. I'm away off to the doctor in an hour to show my war wounds. I think I need stitches in my knee. Who knew trimming up would be so dangerous.1

A long time ago I went to school the day after a strength session and decided during gymnastics class that I felt confident enough to jump over the buck with a springboard. So far so good, but the next exercise was jumping over the buck using a springboard, landing in a trampoline and subsequently jumping over a tall block. Apparently my legs were still sore and I couldn't balance properly, so instead of jumping forward I jumped backwards and twisted sideways, so I landed on my left buttock underneath the buck. Needless to say I ended up getting a massive bruise and couldn't do leg training for a couple of weeks afterwards. It bruised my ego too.2

After a heavy leg session being in the bathroom trying to lower myself as I just couldn't possibly hover and making noises and realizing I wasn't in the bathroom alone lol5

Well just walking to the bathroom at work after leg day is an embarrassment.4

I remember one particular situation where my arms were too weak for me to pull open the door to the stairwell at work... I ended up having to go out the building (that door I could open by throwing my entire body weight at it), going round half ways, up to the street, up to the main lobby and going into the building from there using the lovely sliding doors...
My boss happened to come out of a meeting right then and there... "Where are you coming from? I thought you were down in the assembly hall to document those teach positions for the new robot?" Erm... yesh...3 -
this morning I stuck my arm out in front of me to give my boss a big thumbs up as he returned from a meeting (we are both sarcastic at work, tis great)
arm did not appreciate that after BodyPump last night. So the cheerful, 'haha! I didn't have to be in that meeting!' turned into an, 'owya, hell that hurts' screwed up face grimace.
which made him laugh anyways!
Day after Pump is always amusing with the daily trials of stairs and toilet sitting and lifting my water bottle!1 -

Yes! I get around like an old lady -- I normally would grunt too, but I try my best to hold it in.

I don't think you'll need to have many if you're going to drink through a straw - last time I saw someone drink alcohol through a straw she was on the floor after two drinks

Trained at a new gym on Monday in the morning, trained at my place in the evening, didn't think it was going to be that bad because I didn't really push that hard but I ended up with the worst DOMS I've had in a long time. I was sore the day after, yesterday and a bit today but I'm able to put my clothes on without wincing now so that's something. I tend to get rubber fingers if I work too hard. Just drop all the things.1

We are strength training very differently....
(Instructions from my coach are "I want you working until muscular FAILURE." So there's that.)
Anyway... Only funnies I can think of are sometimes my hands shake after heavy hard sets, I went to drink some water one time and spilled it all over myself. Ha?2 -
I have trained my shoulders to the point that I couldn't lift my coffee mug to drink from it... does that count?1

Upped the weight I was using for leg extensions. Lost track of time and spent longer on the bike than intended.
Went home, squatted down to sort through my laundry basket, and... eventually decided to just fall over sideways, because my quads were clearly not going to have any part of getting myself back up again.6
