When I was cutting carbs, I stalled out at about 20g-30g net carbs daily because of low carb veggies, nuts, peanuts, peanut butter, and sauces adding up. To cut back further, I ultimately stopped eating almost all plant products (except coffee and some small amounts of sauces and seasonings). I can stay below 10g most days doing that.

Hmm, well, 1. You don't have to close out your diary... the only gain of doing so that I can tell is it gives an estimate of how fast you may (or may not lose weight). 2. Does it matter if the app tells you that you are losing weight too fast? It's an app, not a doctor...

It seems like an odd move to me, and something that will only serve to skew your numbers.

Protein is not really an energy source - you use it to build muscle mass not burn it.

Protein converts to glucose through gluconeogenesis. While net carbs become glucose at nearly 100% efficiency, protein converts at approximately 58%... so it is not nearly as efficient as carbs.

ETA: My point is that protein is still an energy source.

You have to have 1000 calories to close your dairy

You don't have to close it. Or you can ignore the message, which does say there are exceptions. I'd keep it honest in case you want to show it to a doctor at some point, and so you have a good record of actual calories.

That said, did you see my message before about increasing calories and eating more fat?

Are you under a doctor's supervision? If not (or even if so), I do recommend going to the low carb group and getting advice from those doing the way of eating you seem to be doing.

So I don't eat the ice cream, just put it on the app to get my calories up

    Well, that's healthy.

Unless there's a medical reason for such a low caloric intake AND you're being supervised/cared for by a doctor this isn't healthy. You can lose weight with moderation you just have to have the will power and the want to do it. If you don't want to do it then you won't until you're ready.

OP i never click on "complete this entry", the only thing that does is post on your newsfeed and give you the weight loss prediction, which has never been accurate for me, not completing your diary still saves your day.

I'm not condoning eating only 1000 calories though... I don't see the point of adding foods you're not even eating, this will just serve to give you an inaccurate overall picture. If you're going to stick with low carb, then eat more fat!
