While it's being more accepted as "normal" these days, I still see quite a lot of dirty looks over piercings, tattoos and unconventional hair colors and clothes. There's also the fact that a lot of places won't let you work there with piercings or tattoos visible.. or people are made to redye their hair "natural" colors to gain employment (this one happened to me).

At least I can say that I have now seen more people my grandparent's age being more accepting of all these unique and wonderful ways of expression. More so than my parent's generation (baby boomers).

I was actually shocked my mom wanted to be in the room with me when I got my nose pierced. She has also become more accepting of me talking about adding to my tattoos. I knew once she got a pink streak in her hair she had started coming around.

I am tattooed, and ears & another piercing. No regrets. And I do really like tattoos . Just.....these are shocking when you first see them. And they could be great persons. But...The devil, the lizard man. Theres a guy in my town, I met him when I got my piercing. He modified himself to look like a Star Trek Romulan. That's his decision.

I want to get a plastic surgery on my face so my face can look like a huge d"ldo.

But ya'll should still love me, cuz I have a beautiful heart and I am the nicest bf/son/father/brother/uncle/grandfather.

Well, most women judge straight off the looks without giving someone a chance. Sadly, we live in society where people get judged on how you look and dress.

People want to stand out, even if it means not looking normal. Competitive body builders take a bunch of PED's and insulin to look like physical freaks. In Asia, some people have their shin bones cut and expander used to gain a few inches of height.

Can't compare a devilish face to a physique. Specially competing to win, a goal. But.... That? Poor child, will be a laughing joke in school.

If a kid was considered a joke by other kids at school for how their parent looks I don't see much a difference in this comparison.

"That" looks like somebody who loves their child and vice versa unconditionally.

Yea, a father who loves his child and a child who is scared of his father.
What about people who have genetic issues that may distort their face or body? Would you say the same?

Thats a foolish thing to ask. A genetic issue is something we have no control over, compared doing something voluntarily are not the same.
Point I'm making is that people who have those issues ARE MADE FUN OF ANYWAY. You see whatever he did as horrible, but that's a subjective point of view. What if the guy is actually part of a side show and that's how he makes his money?
Different cultures do things to themselves that many people question, but in the end, why does it matter so much if that other person isn't bothered by it?

Now you assuming something. What if he is part of a side show ? Then saying different cultures, on previous talking about genetics etc..... You went slightly off the rail. As the post said, why would he go extreme. Was only referring to the redskull at hand. I couldn't believe what I read.

I'm with you on this! No one knows what anyone is going thru. He could have a mental condition, it could be for work, etc. making fun of and talking about people is a form of judgement. And who are we to judge?

On the article, he said he always wanted to do it, but didn't know anyone who does any extreme body modifications. Until he found one, he jumped to the chance. He had to go through physical examination before he was modified on.
