    I'm in maintenance and I am still tracking everything as I did before. I'm not sure how to transition, to be honest.

    Nothing wrong with long term tracking if you don't mind doing it. Otherwise, you can set other parameters to go by if you get burned out on the tracking. I do IF and daily weigh-ins to keep me on track in maintenance. If the weight starts creeping up (and stays higher for more than a few days), then I get strict again and start tracking, until I'm back down in my maintenance range.

    Yeah I think I'll stick with it for now. It's become habit, and rather that than gain anything back.

    There's no such thing as perfectly...there's a lot of estimation involved. Calorie counts at restaurants are allowed a certain margin of error, and it's just going to depend on who's doing the cooking as well...packaged foods are allowed a certain amount of error, etc.

    When I logged, I tried to be accurate enough...I didn't bother being as precise with things like veg vs something higher calorie like almonds, but I entered something. I was accurate enough with things to lose 40 Lbs.

    I would log veggies. They do have calories and sodium.

    Be sure to weigh your foods instead of using measuring cups since it's more accurate. I try not to eyeball or guesstimate. That's what usually ends up getting me off track real fast!

    Hey, a lot of this is getting to know about food anyways. It may not be perfect at first, but backing up what you know or have learned about food can help you estimate what you're getting- especially if a restaurant isn't listed in here (chipotle listings have been so helpful!)

    Because I'm on a gain, I go for the slightly lower numbers in searches if I'm not familiar with the calories/nutrition. Some things I buy are from small businesses (like loaves of bread) with no nutrition attached. If I was on a loss, I would estimate a little higher (hey, 10 calories off on most items might add up) and use what I've learned or can logically assume for what I've got.

    I eat out... uh... I work at the West Side Market so maybe every day, technically? But I know pretty well what I'm eating.
