1 litre of water first thing in the morning

It's weird that both articles reference it boosting your metabolism by 24% without any citation (very specifically not 23% or 25%). That should be a red flag for you right there. If that were true or backed up by any kind of research, it shouldn't be a problem for either article to point to some kind of source for the claim.
OMG I love your profile pic.1 -

He also thinks the earth is flat. I think his "water" may have some added ingredients....they perhaps increase metabolism and help with weight loss.4 -

David Wolfe who thinks gravity if toxic and solar panels are draining the sun? I wouldn't trust a word from his mouth.

So what this is essentially saying is that the sun will turn off like a light switch if we take too much of it's energy ?? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this one...

I like a glass of water in the morning, but 1 litre of it first thing in the morning just makes me cringe. I have a hard enough time trying to down 500 ml in the morning before an ultrasound ... drinking that much water while I'm getting ready to dash out the door to work is hard enough, but 15 minutes later ... in the middle of my bus ride ... ouch.1

Oh jeez. That's the first I've heard of it :noway:

Water intake should be spread out throughout the day so drinking 1 liter in the morning might not be too beneficial at all. Your kidneys can handle too much water in one sitting so that's something you should watch out for. Also, water doesn't really have too much of an impact on metabolism.0

Yes, he's really that derpy. And then some.2 -
I just drink 8oz of water first thing, then drink 8oz warm water with 2 tablespoons of ACV,1tablespoon lemon, and 1/2 tablespoon honey (to mask the ACV taste.) DRINK that 30 min prior to first meal and last meal of the day. Helps with metabolism and also cleanses the body of nasty stuff.1

I don't like the taste of water first thing in the morning .... unless there is rum in it to kill the morning breath4

No it does not ...
Your liver and kidneys already do that8 -

What is the actual process at play here, how is this drink helping with metabolism and cleansing nasty stuff, like what does this drink actually do?
Also, what is meant by helping with metabolism, are you saying drinking lemon honey vinegar water can change ones metabolic rate?
Also, what's nasty stuff?
Also, what's cleansing?
Yours,
Not hopeful of an answer.9 -

There's no scientific evidence to suggest that vinegar "helps with metabolism" and "cleanses body of nasty stuff".
Are you counting the honey calories?

I drink 2 12-oz glasses of water in the morning because (1) I need to take my thyroid meds, and (2) I like it. While my system functions poorly (not gonna go into details 'cos TMI) if I don't drink enough water, the good-ish quantity in the AM doesn't cause any kind of dramatic returns. Starts my day off right, though.1

I noticed an improvement.1

Drink 8 oz. water before you go to bed. This seems counter productive, because you will be making an argument about mid-sleep bathroom trips, but when you sleep you are exhaling moisture and it keeps you from getting too dry, thus keeping your body from trying to retain water. When you wake up have another glass as you start your day.1

I've been drinking 3-4 bottles of water right out of bed for a while but can't say it would boost metabolism. It does help to suppress hunger. Lost 24 pounds in 56 days with calorie deficit, water usage, HIIT and avoiding processed junk. Wouldn't go as far as to give the water all the credit but its part of my plan. As far as a cleanse goes go to your nearest Mcdonalds and drink anything milk based after 10pm: Guaranteed clean out.0

LOL. Does it help that it does need to be cooked? I mean, I don't just go yanking it out of the ground and gnawing on it. *snicker*2
