Hi all. Has anyone had any long term results without keto rash on the Ketosis diet?

What's keto rash? I've done keto on and off for years. The longest I stuck with it strictly was about a year. I just restarted and I've never heard of keto rash.

There is a weird phenomenon where people will get a rash when going into a keto diet. Apparently, it can be painful and some have to increase carbs to alleviate symptoms.

OP, you might have to adjust carb levels (maybe start at 50g net) to see if that would prevent a rash. Alternatively, you can start with low carb and continue to lower carbs until you hit a level where no rash occurs.

Ah, interesting. I did some googling about it and it seems like:

a.) It usually passes quickly and only occurs early into keto.
b.) A few things can help: washing with anti-dandruff shampoo, taking anti-histamines, applying a corticosteroid, keeping the area dry and well-ventilated.
c.) Some common keto foods can trigger it, like eggs or coconut oil. So eliminating certain foods can help.

Keto rash isn't very common and it is transient. I've heard of a few people who had it for 2 weeks. I never saw it. My only rash while keto was shingles and it was so incredibly mild that I credit my high MCT intake for helping it.

I've been in ketosis for most of the last 2 years. I feel best the lower I get my carbs, including vegetables. It made weight loss easier and maintenance was not too tough. I did regain about 10 lbs when a health issue cropped up but it is falling off again.

It's also helped with a few health issues I have. I am a low carber for life, and I expect I'll be very low carb for most of that. I feel so much better on this diet that it isn't worth having the foods that most people eat.

Try the Low Carber Daily MFP forum. Lots of low carbers and keto'ers in there. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

I suffered from the horrible keto rash.. I had no idea how to make it go away no cream seemed to help. After 2 months of strict keto it's when I developed the keto rash on my back. Someone told me to up my carbs and I did because I was desperate. So I upped my carbs by 30 grams and the next day the intense ich was gone and slowly it vanished after 2 weeks. I am doing straight keto keeping my carbs under 20 grams and I have not had the keto rash again I been doing keto for 5 months.
