Just looking for a little advice, been going the gym about 8 months now have managed to lose 3 stone.

I've gained about 8lb of muscle since which am happy with. However I've still got a bit of a muffin top goin on around the waist (although have gone from 38 waist to 34!! )

Just started building in a hiit session for 15 mins each morning 5 days a week hoping to start working my core does this sound right??

You just need to keep going. Belly fat is often the last to go. Working your core is fine, but it won't specifically burn belly fat.

I would only do HIIT 2-3x a week, but I'd at least walk 30-40min a day regardless, even if it's just 10-15 min after each meal as well as some quality time under the barbell a few times a week.

Regarding weight loss, calorie deficit through diet and activity. There is no such thing as spot reduction.
