Has anyone tried or doing the 5-2 diet? Your thoughts?

I couldn't get the two 500 calorie days to work. Now I zig-zag my calories differently - I eat less during the week and maintenance on the weekends. So essentially the same principle.

I liked it - found adherence to a moderate weekly calorie deficit far easier that way rather than having a deficit every day.
Fitted around a heavy exercise routine better for me too as the bulk of my training was done fully fuelled on the 5 maintenance calorie days.
Transition to maintenance was also easy as I was already used to eating at maintenance.1 -
