I call my lady, Brat, she calls me Jerk

Lol! In happier times I was B*tch and he was *kitten*! True story, actual Loving Pet Names!
In public and on the phone it's Honey & Babe

These are true pet names. I even gave her a necklace with Brat on it.

    Hey I need some help!
I've been seeing a new guy for a couple months now and things are progressing nicely, but I feel it's too formal to keep using his name in texts. Saying "babe" kind of freaked him out a few weeks ago even though I meant nothing by it.
Surely there's some cutesy pet names I can use for him.
I mean, I don't want him to read too much into it. Not jumping into marriage yet.

I suck at the sweet nickname shiz that I see all over everyone's walls around here. Can someone help a sister out?

Just keep it simple yet flattering such as stud or handsome.

I like pet names but I agree that if he freaked out over Babe, then maybe he wouldn't appreciate it.

p.s. he should probably lighten up.

He'd never make it on MFP with all the sickening pet names that get thrown around here!

Pet names mostly make me laugh or gag.

I do like personal nicknames though, but they just come to me as I get to know a person, or something that makes me laugh that I relate to them, sometimes I don't share it!

I almost always call people by their whole given name, unless they ask me to call them otherwise. I don't know why, but I like whole given names so much better, maybe because nicknames never suited me.

As long as his name's not Charles then call him Charles. He's going to eventually question you on it and that's when you explain that since he didn't like babe you're calling him Charles. After a few days he'll come around to the idea of being called babe.

Personally I'm not a fan of Babe... Everyone uses that, I'm Jesse and she's called me Jes for 17yrs, it's always worked for me.

I'll never say what I call her in private lol, in public I call her by her name .

I call my husband "baby" and "sugar" a lot, he calls me "babycakes". "Sweets" is a cute one, or "love".

I call my girl " pretty " all the time. I like calling her pretty instead of babe or bae. Maybe just call him handsome and leave it at that

I'm using this in conversation some time today.
I'll report back with his reaction.

    How did it go?

I feel like I need a funny Transformers gif to send when I drop the babatron bomb.
