Yes Mame. I've been vegetarian for years. Switched a few weeks ago to total vegan. I am feeling great! Having fun finding creative ways to get my non vegan family to embrace some of my dishes. Son is now hooked on Nut Milks.2

Hi Yeh been vegan for 18 months now, but I lot more choice in supermarkets now makes it easier, as you I have watched all the docs on netflix.4

I'm not a vegan, but I am working towards becoming one by the end of the year! I've been a pescatarian for 12 yrs and eat little dairy...though eggs are a diet staple of mine (I personally know all the chickens, so I'm going to give myself a pass on this one).
At any rate, I make a lot of vegan meals and my dairy is open to friends, so you guys can feel free to add me.4 -

Yesss! I've been a vegetarian on and off my whole life but made the permanent switch after having my daughter. Have been fully vegan for 2 months now and I feel amazing, I wish I had done this sooner. The weight is literally melting off and I'm not even trying.2

i went whole-foods-plant-based in may after being pescetarian for a couple years. i've lost 12 pounds after a couple years of weight loss plateau. i don't feel restricted, and i still have treats sometimes (vegan junk food like french fries, popsicles, occasionally candy). i don't feel deprived at all like i have in the past when losing weight. i feel great, my tummy issues are gone, and i have more energy. yay to finding something that works for us!
i have found a bunch of helpful resources, and the book "How Not to Die" has been a manual in my family. we do our best to follow the "daily dozen" guidelines in his book. i also found the Rich Roll podcast to be extremely helpful and inspiring.
it helped that my partner made this transition with me (in fact, it was his idea to ditch the dairy after he got a high cholesterol result from a blood test). we're going strong and i've started a blog to share ideas for practical meals and related food tips. it's still pretty new, but i have a dozen or so posts and a resources page, if you're interested: https://practicalplantpeople.wordpress.com/
i'll add you all as friends!3 -

Sweet! I became vegan April 22nd, 2017! I'm hoping to get more vegan friends on here...1

I'm attempting to work animal products out of my life for the second time. The husband is working on being more accommodating about that lol.0

I went vegetarian in December last year, after doing more research in the months that followed I went vegan at the start of June. Feel free to add me people ☺️0

Those shows were horrendous, poorly researched, cherry - picked propaganda. Not to mention overly dramatic.
If you want to go vegan, that's great. Please do some research into nutritional balance. There are ways to go about and be healthy and ways to be unhealthy. It's a big choice that requires a lot of knowledge, particularly on meeting nutritional needs for your body.
I know this post started off harsh, that's about the shows, not about your choice to switch. You can do it, just read a lot and learn to keep the balance.6 -
Hi all!! Transitioning to vegan here. By transitioning I mean finishing off what was already in the home. I was feeling very sluggish a few days ago. I downloaded MFP after a long hiatus because I'm trying to track my micros. If any successful vegans want to friend me and give me some feedback, I'd be ever greatful! I have to take in a lot because I'm also breastfeeding.0

If you are considering yourself vegan, do you eat honey? Do you wear silk or wool? Do you use products that have beeswax? If the answer to any of those are yes, you are not vegan, you are vegetarian.3 -
Great documentaries, I have been vegan for yeaaars but just watched earthlings lastnight finally... I hate the human race lol.1

Hi! I am not vegan but I have been a vegetarian for roughly 8 years. I just wanted to note that eating honey and buying honey products (from small, or self owned businesses at least) can be actually good for the bees. Especially with their populations dwindling they need all the help they can get. Bees naturally make an excess of honey that they cannot consume all by themselves, and having the safety and security and ideal living conditions of bee keeper hives keeps them happy and thriving. So going out of your way to avoid buying honey not only hurts the small businesses and bee keepers, but hurts the bees and their conservation as well.

True, but vegans still believe in using no products taken from, or produced by, animals. Lots of logical thinking is missing with some of them (shearing wool also benefits the sheep). Like PETA with housepets. They believe that people should not have pets, so they euthanize rather than adopt at their shelters1
