Loon
Couple weeks ago my sister and I went for a walk, very isolated and peaceful place. At the end was a pond filled with loons. There must've been at least a dozen. We were mesmerized just watching them. Funny thing was though, not once did they make their famous loon calls. But have you ever seen them fly for a short bit then skid feet first into the water? They were definitely in their element there.

In the 1960s and 70s hippies lived in these manmade caves, including singer Joni Mitchell.
When we lived in Greece in the 60s we visited Crete and I remember being fascinated seeing all those people living there.2 -
