I love to sit/lay around and read. I love it even more if I'm eating popcorn/chips/cheese/crackers or drinking wine.
I am not inclined to get up and exercise. I DO get up and exercise (just about every day), but that's not my inclination.
Anyone else out there enjoy laziness?

Yes, and then I realised I also loved running so they kind of balance eachother out3

I keep intending to enjoy walking/running/exercising more than being lazy, but to no avail.
Hiking and skiing are the exceptions for me, but that's about it.

This. Ying and yang. The exercise makes the laziness so much more satisfying.4 -
I enjoy laziness and hanging out on my patio with a cold beer and a cigar while I grill up some burgers...I also enjoy cycling and rock climbing quite a bit. I get the best of both worlds...4

You seem to enjoy mental stimulation. Next time you go out walking try bringing a book on tape with you. Only listen to them when you're exercising and you can find yourself looking forward to getting up and moving.8

I read whilst I use my exercise bike, it's the only time except at night in bed that I let myself read my books that way I am more likely to keep reading, I use an app on my mobile called Wattpad so many good stories on there to keep myself entertained and exercise1

Left to my own devices I would not exercise. I love nothing more than lying on the couch reading or watching a film while stuffing my face with yummy food.
I have been very fat and very lazy in the past, now I am somewhat fat and somewhat lazy.2 -
yep i love being lazy, and i love being lazy without any guilt because i work so hard in the gym .3

I mix the two. I love running, hiking, biking, etc. When I'm not doing that, I love sitting in a comfortable chair with a good book and listening to music. There's time for both. (Obviously, I have no kids.)0

If we weren't lazy or bored we wouldn't be on these chat things. It's nature to feel s little lazy from time to time.0

I get lazy sometimes. But since quitting alcohol (even the moderate amounts I was drinking) I've gotten way less lazy. But yeah, entire years go by that I don't see the inside of my gym shoes...0

Of course. Loads of people on here feel that way. That's how the body achieves and maintains a high body weight. When people go on about "I have a low metabolism", that's what's really going on - their body wants to conserve energy, so it makes then disinclined to move. I'm afraid it's part and parcel of being someone who puts on weight. To keep weight off, I reckon I'll always have to fight that lazy impulse.2 -
I honestly can't stand it anymore. Even now, when I am cutting hard and SHOULD be keeping my activity low, I just have issues with being idle now. I tried playing some of my favorite PC games this cut, just to keep my mind occupied, but I ended up switching to my Vita, because I can walk around while playing it.1

I have a dear friend like you -- she HATES sitting around. We joke about how different we are. It's not that I dislike being outside and being active, but I have to persuade myself to get up and out there. She has to persuade herself to rest.0 -

I also believe that, for me, it is a habit. I have times of day when I habitually sit around and read. Other times the habit is to sit around and read and also eat -- that's nighttime for me.
I could use more info about habits -- forming them, breaking them, why it is so hard to break them, etc.0 -
Oh I LOVE being lazy. Fortunately for me I also love living on the farm and that means I can't be too lazy. If I had to rely on purposeful "exercise" I'd be a whole lot less fit. But really the work makes the laziness even better. There is nothing I like better than just sitting on the patio with a glass of wine and good food, feet propped up, unwinding with family or friends after a hard day of work.2

Since I started going to the gym regularly last year I really can't stand just laying around doing nothing.
I do love reading and I've found I don't really like audiobooks, but if I could read and work out at the same time that would be preferable.2 -

I love being lazy, and I especially love snacking while lazy. I really love getting my workouts done early in the day so I can be lazy the rest of the day. Being lazy is what got me 70 pounds overweight, though, so I'm trying to fight that.
Of course, I'm typing this post while laying in bed and watching tv, lol.0 -
I enjoy being lazy. TBH if I didnt have a dog that needs the mental and physical stimulation I wouldnt be out exercising every day. So getting a dog that is a herding breed has really helped me. Because of her my husband and I are out walking or hiking every night for roughly two hours. But as soon as we get home I then am lazy the rest of the night so it kind of balances lol0

I LOVE being lazy. It's one of my favorite things to do. I also LOVE running. Running the 50+ miles a week that I do, I have absolutely no problem spending hours at a time of my down time being a complete lazy bum2

According to a recent MFP blog article, I am an "active couch potato" personified, which it says is not good for my health.
It's not so much laziness as a lack of reason to engage in more physical movement.
I'm retired and exercise for 1-2 hrs a day but the rest of the time, apart from trips to shop or run errands or do chores around the house, I mostly spend my time seated in front of the computer or TV or in bed.
I do stand while cooking and eating, so I guess it's not all that bad. LOL!0 -
I love sitting on my patio and doing nothing. I run in the morning and walk in the evening. It's all about balance.0

One thing that does help is Restless Leg Syndrome. Also having short stubby legs, so that sofas and armchairs are not that comfortable.
Neither of these are for sale, unfortunately. I would put my twitchy legs on eBay like a shot if I could.0 -
Sometimes you need a little bit of laziness. After a long day in work and then going to the gym there's nothing I find better than curling up in my pyjamas, getting into a good book or watching something on Netflix0
