Magnesium Supplements for better sleep?

I'm sorry about your sleep troubles. I suggest you see sleep doctor. You could have sleep apnea. Mine was diagnosed shortly after I began weight loss, I had to use CPAP, but it was cured by the time I reached my goal weight and I no longer have to use it. Sleep doctor said that losing weight and increase exercise both can affect your hormones and body chemistry, and thus your sleep. I know its frustrating that you are doing something good for yourself that then causes other unexpected issues. Regardless, we have to take care of ourselves and our bodies. Sleep apnea is a life threatening issue and is not helped by all the herbs and remedies in the world. (I don't dispute they can help with some things, but not this.) If it's not sleep apnea, doc might have suggestions to help you.0

I am a bit wary of Melatonin supplements, they seem to have an excessive amount in them compared to the amount needed by the body
Melatonin supplements come in different strengths. 1 mg was enough for me for years. We make less as we get older.
I'm taking Magnesium Aspartate for something else and moved it to night time after reading magnesium can help with sleep. It didn't for me.
I have a medical condition that interferes with my sleep. What does help is 0.5 ml CBD oil (from hemp, so legal.) It's pricey, so I'd recommend melatonin first.0 -
Can't speak for others but i recently had a oximetry study for sleep apnea and was all-clear... 94% o2 saturation overnight.
I've been working with doctor on item by item to try and figure out my headaches.... i've had them all my life.... i can go weeks without a let-up (that does get you down!)0 -

Are you seeing a headache specialist? I'd highly recommend one.0 -
Nope .... runs in the family on my mothers side ... several generations now (my grt gran, my gran, mom, cousin, uncle, me) ...
I've had MRI, tried various things, seen sleep specialist ... i've just learned to tolerate a lot .... doesn't help obviously ... had full blood works about 6 months ago - everything was spot on, blood pressure used to be very high, that's now normal
Losing weight + more activity was hoping would help then i went and had the mother of all migraines 2 weeks ago which floored me for 2 days straight....

Friday night I got about 3.5 hours of deep sleep and last night only about 2 hours but in one long chunk rather than broken sleep. Slept well enough to dream on Friday which rarely happens.
Have you experienced any of the reported GI issues?
Nope no issues, haven't seen any changes to my normal habits so to speak.1 -
Day 4 - still going well, feeling a lot more rested and able to concentrate in work a lot better.0

I know we are talking about trying to sleep, since menopause at 50 and at 62 still going thru it my doctor reccommended I take 1/2 a gravol at bed time and it relaxes me to fall a sleep.
I don't feel sluggish or drag my *kitten* the next day and best of all during the night I am not knocked cold.
I do take magnesium citrate to go to the bathroom, currently I take 700 mg and still don't feel clear in the am.
Any other suggestions , I do eat fruit and begs.0
