Limit yourself to 5 bites of cake and really savor every single bite. Also do a 3 mile walk, it'll burn maybe 200ish calories, take about 45 mins and will help offset the cake.13

Track it and move on. Plan for the restaurant. Try to find nutrition information and make a plan before hand. If you decide you are ok with going over a bit - then do it. If you decide to go for a low calorie soup/salad option, stick with the plan. Maybe move a little more to burn some more calories..7

I have this image in my head of someone tripping and falling onto a donut, mouth first. Oops! It was an accident!47

How do you accidentally eat a donut? Did it fall in to your mouth? Or did you trip over and land on it face first?
Enjoy your brothers birthday! You can still have a good time and depending on the restaurant, make sensible choices.

One day did not make you overweight. One day will not screw it up. Enjoy your brother's birthday, do some extra exercise, cut 100 cals a day for the next few days if you must. Don't use it as an excuse to go off reservation, still make a good choice for dinner.9

Oh dear! Try to see the humor in it, your situation made me laugh.
You could always do a little extra cardio and earn some calories.2 -
Eat it all, enjoy yourself and repent tomorrow!2
-
Go for a jog or bicycle ride or climb some stairs.1
-
Make sensible choices for the rest of the day, and don't beat yourself up about it. You cannot uneat the donut, and it won't make you put the weight back on. Perhaps for peace of mind make an extra effort tomorrow, but really, tomorrow is another day, and you've got to be kind to yourself.1

So you had an egg wrap for breakfast, followed by a donut and now you're almost out of calories for the entire day? What is the total amount of calories you're supposed to have in a day?14 -
You "accidentally" ate a donut and later you "have to" eat cake? This is going to be a very difficult process for you if you don't work on your dysfunctional relationship with food.14

its my brothers birthday and my parakeets 1 year birthday too im gonna give them fruit salad and millet
Are you planning to eat that, too? <confused>5 -
Track it and move on. Do the best you can with the rest of the day. I'd try to visualize the day. What seems reasonable for the birthday party?
Add up what you've done and what seems reasonable and make that today's target. Be sure to track everything.
What I wouldn't do is try to make up the difference by adding extra exercise or by imposing an austerity program.
The most important thing is the process, planning and tracking. This can be a great day. Today you track a miscue. It's an important test. Tracking requires tracking everything, good, bad and ugly.
The process is much more important than the number of calories for any one day. Learn from this.

Make it a maintenance day. Doesn't matter.
It's really more important to learn from screw ups than get all worried or bummed out about them. Figure out why you ate the donut when you'd already had breakfast and how not to do that. Figure out how to plan for birthday cake if you want birthday cake.
Also, 1200 might not be right for you and if it's too low could be part of why you have trouble resisting temptation.
Planning in advance can be very helpful, especially if you are new to this.1 -
So you are going over calories today. What about for the week?
Going forward, I suggest that you stop eating donuts after breakfast

have fun it's only one day start fresh tomorrow3

You didn't accidentally eat a donut, and you don't have to eat cake. You make conscious decisions to do so. It's okay to go off your plan for a meal or 2, just stop thinking that you have no choice /accountability. Have fun today!
Edited to say be kind to yourself. Nobody is perfect.9 -
BTW- a donut is just a fried wad of goo.10

So now your choice is to either stay within your calorie limit or go over because you want to celebrate tonight. As mentioned, you can help offset some calories with more physical activity. You could "accidentally" wash the car, clean the house, do lawn work, etc. too.

Have a maintenance calorie day, exercise more, eat a bit less the rest of the week, or go crazy and accept you won't lose weight this week and get back to normal eating next week.
You don't accidentally eat these things. You chose it.1 -

^^^ This. You control food. Don't let food control you.
