I completed the shred and looked into ripped in 30... but I haven't had the cojones to do it yet lol.

So, I half watched, half joined level 3 of 30DS on Friday and properly did it yesterday. I like the exercises (well, except for the darn jumps) and although it's freaking hard, I like the plank and pushup stuff.
After seeing a clear change after level 1, level 2 didn't bring much change in my body. Don't know if I was not engaged enough, but I've read from others that they had the same phenomenon.
8 more days and I'm going to throw the DVD in the back of my shelf forever. I really like the result, but I hate the presentation. The music sucks and the exercises are totally independent of the beat. And Jillian's talking is super annoying, especially after hearing it for ten sessions straight. I will continue to use half an hour per day for some program (DVD or a Wii fitness "game") and maybe, I come back for one session every now and then, but in general, I'm done with this particular DVD.

So, let's go for the last 8 to 14 days, ladies. I hope you enjoyed your days off and are motivated again

Just finished day 24. I have to agree about Jillian - her presentation style is properly annoying - and totally at odds with the fact that she's repeatedly talking about 'always bringing her A-game' while standing there not doing the exercises  I do like the fact that they're over quickly though...

Oh, @ladychris29 haven't seen your entry, didn't mean to ignore it.
Congratulations on finishing Shred! Amazing Job, A-MA-ZING Job ;) yeah, I'm mocking her, but I actually mean it.
As for the Ripped: I haven't seen it yet, but in this thread, lots of people said that it's actually nicer than 30DS.

"I know you think I'm crazy... and it's not the first time I've heard that!" ;) Gotta love mocking her lol.

No worries--and thanks. I keep saying I'll look into ripped. I will. Really. One day.

Day 17 finished. The past 2 nights I've had some problems with a pesky knot in my mid back (from a car accident). I might have to give myself a rest day tomorrow. It doesn't hurt at the time of exercising, but later after dinner. I still vote for 30DS. There are some moves on Ripped that seem "just wrong" to do, at least for me. You're right about her talking instead of exercising- do as she says, not as she does (or doesn't). I'm guessing Level 4 will be totally nuts, but I'm willing to give it a try if I can stop hurting myself.

Take good care of yourself, @SheilaCali
I've finished day 23 and am really proud of my ability to do the walking pushups with straight legs. I'm not going super deep, but still, that's so cool.
But I observed something: I have real trouble to keep my abs engaged when concentrating on other parts of my body during hard exercises. I know, I'm supposed to, to support my core, but I'm really not great at multitasking when it comes to muscles. (a fact, my singing teacher is very unhappy about as well )

Just did Day 18. I had to take another day off after my last workout. I tried week 4 "just for fun". Ha ha, it wasn't. "The Mother of All Workouts" she called it. I kept up for the most part, playing with my range of motion some more. Perhaps that's my issue. Some moves I could do easier, others were more forced and I reined it back. Hollowmans? No way. Burpees? Not totally. Adjusting is the way to go for me, and I need to stretch more. I think that will be my epitaph. My foam roller should be worn out, but it's looking rather pristine. Shame on me. We're almost done (me, not so much)!

I'm always astounded how different my day to day form is. Some days I can "easily" (let's use that word with caution here) keep up and even the jumping is fine and the next day, I need a break in almost every move and feel like dying.
And I was so proud of my pushups, but on Tuesday, we were doing a "Wheel" in my Yoga class. It's a move where you lie on your back, pelvis lifted. Then you place your hands next to your ears and press up the upper body so that you are in a backwards bridge kind of posture, standing on your hands and feet. I could absolutely not press my torso up. I excuse it with the strange angle and everything, but the truth is that my arms are still far from being strong enough to do that.
24 days are done, 2 more will follow before my little trip and next week, I'm hopefully finishing this challenge. And hell yeah, a Challenge it is!

Missevil, you're getting stronger every day. You're just not quite there yet. I bet you're closer than ever. Kudos for trying and keep your chin up. Enjoy what you CAN do! I did 2 hours of cleaning- swept, mopped, vacuumed, laundry, cooking, dishes. I thought that was enough for today. Day 19 tomorrow. I'm psyched. I signed up for a fitness challenge for October already, as I've only got a couple of months before my vacation and have to stay focused. Motivation is key!

Day 27 done, but annoyingly have twisted my knee somehow when coming out of the final set of side planks... will try and walk it off but will have to see how I feel for tomorrow's workout...

Be careful VanVan! There are so many moves that seem risky (or just plain stupid). My left foot is still painful from starting this video. My calves may be too tight. I'll be doing more stretches/foam rolling in October for sure. Day 20 done- level 3. I'll probably finish sometime in October. 10 days left, but it will take me closer to 20. My Bday's on the 25th, so that will be a nice present to myself- satisfaction! :p

Well, I did some exercise today after a week off, but am not calling it day 28 yet - I took it down a notch and did a Davina workout (won't mean anything if you're not from the UK) - easier on the knees than Jillian. If I still feel ok tomorrow then it's back at it for the final stretch!

Hmmm... my last post has not been posted, it seems. Well, I'm back from my mini-vacation and tonight is finally my day 30!!! I feel level 3 in my shoulders and butt, but that's a good thing. I certainly need to keep an eye on my butt. It's getting very shapeless from my weight loss. And who want's a shapeless, wobbling *kitten*?!
It was a freaking hard trip, but a successful one as well. I'm not slim or show any signs of a sixpack like she currently predicts in the session, but I definitely got stronger and lost a few centimetres.
I'll check and test all of my DVDs during the next days, but I think I'm going back to my Wii training, which is very versatile. I'm going to keep Jillian and return every now and then for a session, but I'm glad that I have to listen to her only one more time ;)

Congratulations missevil  I've just finished day 28 so am not far behind you. Not sure what I'll do next. I fancy Strong Curves (I flattened my *kitten* with too much cardio) and have the book, but am not in a gym. Also a bit nervous about doing exercises wrong if they're new to me...

I did it! And today I almost made it with no breaks. Only very brief ones and not as bad as the last days. So a triumphal last day.
I'll keep checking the thread and cheering for you :) Thank you for the company and motivation on this journey

I have another 2 days of level 3 and 6 left of level 4. I'm losing interest for sure. Some moves are bad for me or just plain stupid, so I'm doing similar "safer" moves. I took myself out of the loop, but if the group is still active by the time I finish, I'll whoop it up then. Cheers and well done, ladies! :)

Well done on your strong finish missevil  I've just done day 29 - yay for us!
@SheilaCali - I think losing interest is why a lot of people who start these challenges flake out - it does get dull repeating the same thing 7 or 10 times in a row, and I think you're more likely to injure yourself as well. I've certainly benefitted from alternating 3 different workouts ( though I managed to injure myself anyhow, lol...)

Well after 3 days off I've finally finished day 30. Not so much finishing with a bang as with a whimper - but at least I've finished

Congratulations! I've just bought resistance loops and play around with them. No fix routine, but scrolling through YouTube and joining with exercises. It's fun, but also hard. Haven't had that sore muscles since the first 3 days with Jillian
