Keto is the bomb!

I am also on the ketogenic diet. It does require a lot of focus and dedication, but I feel awesome since I have switched from a sugar driven metabolism to a fat fueled metabolism. I still need to find ways to get more protein into the mix because I keep coming up short. Also less saturated fats and more poly and mono unsaturated.bazookajoe123 wrote: »Hey I'm Joe! you lose body fat in a deficit of calories. I eat a lot of carbs and lost a lot of fat. I cant do keto because my body and liver cannot process high amounts of fat and cholesterol(genetic health issue). if keto also caused you to burn body fat then people like me wouldnt have lost any fat by your claims on keto. you also claim someone on keto can eat as much as they want. keto is a way of eating, not some magical fat loss way to do so.if you arent in a deficit then you wont lose weight, I think everyone here learned that the hard way.

I understand what you're saying but at the same time I honestly didn't see it as him "preaching" or his way of eating being "superior". Just like I don't see non-keto posts that way. He found something that really worked for him and wanted to share that with others. He did say people should try it not that they NEED to.
Everyone reads things differently though.1 -

Why do we need to say remarks like "it didn't work for me" or "no I'm good". Let's cheer each other on and show support instead of shuning someone's happiness. Things work differently for people, what works for one may not work for the next person but that doesn't mean it's bad or doesn't work period.
Congrats @bazookajoe123 on your success!! Feel free to add me for support
The issue here is misinformation about FAT BURNING based on a type of diet. That one burns more on keto than other diets, when it's not true based on clinical study.

It's not "my CICO pal" either, nor is it, "My Skinny Pal" There are many different ways many people use here to achieve their individual goals, yet it seems the only ones who bash anything outside their way of thinking is the CICO gang

Yeah, I just can't imagine starting a thread to say people should eat like me.1 -
Biology and physiology don't apply to Keto, since as we all know:

There seems to be a lot of confusion or misconceptions about the keto diet... It has major advantages over many diets but not necessarily because of weight loss results. It's biggest advantages are not feeling hungry while eating a 30% calorie deficit, very low strain on your body due to needing less insulin, increase in mental clarity due to the body and specifically the brain feeding off ketones rather than glucose. For me it's the only diet that has felt sustainable because I'm not hungry. In the past when I was on a high protein low carb diet, I was starving.
On the other hand, keto is very restrictive. Most committed people combine the diet with intermittent fasting to maximize the amount of time the body is in ketosis each day. I find limiting food consumption to an 8 hour window everyday works well. This also gives your digestive system time to work on all that fat and protein it has to digest. Intermittent fasting is great for muscle growth too, the body being in a fasted state boosts the production of the growth hormone. Hugh Jackman talks about this being an advantage for someone his age trying to build Wolverine level muscle.
All in all its not about "best". It's about being real with yourself about how you can transition from a dieter to someone living a long term healthy lifestyle. We all want a 6 pack at 55, right?1 -
I have a lot of friends real and virtual who have succeeded with Keto diet, it worked fine for them and they got real good and amazing results, including my best friend
For me it did not work, either combined with IF,with OMAD ,with just simple keto, taking all their advice , having all their good thoughts
I found that what works for me is a combination of less calories and carbs kept in control, protein and fat moderate as macros
So everybody has his own body and his own style and his own diet which will work for him!0
