Thanks, everyone. Lots of good ideas here. I'll be busy trying out some of these combinations this weekend.

Cottage cheese mixed with a packet of dry dressing mix.

I love this idea, Heather. I am trying to eat more cottage cheese, so this will make it easy.

My default is Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Opa Litehouse Greek Yogurt blue cheese, feta dill and ranch dressings have all been tasty.
Bolthouse Farms Greek yogurt blue cheese dressing was okay. I like Opa Litehouse blue cheese a bit more. I have not tried other Bolthouse Farms dressing flavors.
I like regular Hidden Valley Ranch dressing but don't use it as often these days.

I do this, and add a bit of mayo, and it makes a fantastic dip for veggies!

My go-to lately has been plain Greek yogurt thinned out with fresh-squeezed lime juice, then seasoned with some garlic powder and/or Greek seasoning.

Not the most low cal. It Lighthouse blue cheese. A little goes a long way, but it still adds up.

I like my salads with no dressing at all. That's my favourite way to eat a salad ... just a bit of salt.

However, if the salad is served with Caesar or ranch, that's OK. Not my favourite, but OK.

    Most other dressings ... ick.

Half an avocado and a couple of tablespoons of salsa. I have come to find that this is my most favorite way to eat a salad. Proper guacamole is good, too, but I usually just slice up an avo and top with salsa.

I rarely use recipes, but for salad dressings I use

    olive oil
    some type of mustard
some type of vinegar, pickle juice and/or hot sauce
    minced garlic
    spices

If I want it creamy I'll add a little dollop of mayo

Greek yogurt mixed with salsa is amazing

Greek yogurt, buttermilk, fresh herbs, spring onions, salt and pepper

Homemade vinaigrette light on the oil

    Tahini and lemon juice

Try to keep dressing calories between 50-75.

Love the bolthouse dressings so many flavors

I usually drizzle olive oil and basalmic on my salad, but recently tried the Bolthouse Cilantro Avacado Greek Yogurt dressing. It's legit and only 40 calories.

I eat lots of salad. I generally like it, but I need some new ideas for dressings. I like blue cheese, but I need some other options. I am willing to make my own at home if you have a favorite recipe. Thank you.

Green Goddess is amazing! They have a green goddess salad at Panera bread that I eat daily if you would like to try it first

I prefer my own vinaigrette made with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic and fresh herbs from my garden. I vary it by adding different herbs, mustard or buttermilk.

    I do that except I don't have a garden

    But anyway bacon ranch

Just ignore typical vinaigrette oil ratios. It needs SOME oil, it doesn't always need much. My go-to's:
    KB's balsamic
    1T evoo
    1T balsamic
    1t dijon
    1t honey
    S&P
In a jar, shake like mad

    Orange vinaigrette
    1T evoo
2T mandarin or orange juice (small single-user cups perfect, in water)
    1T red wine vinegar
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1t honey
    S&P

I dont like the "chunks" in cottage cheese so I mix it with a hand blender. It makes a great dip or sandwhich/wrap spread.

any dressing by Boathouse Farms--creamy without the calories, or 1 tablespoon of hummus loosened up with a little fresh lemon juice. if the salad has avocado on it then I don't do dressing
