3 Day Apple Fast

Starting Today I'm going to do the 3 day apple cleanse where you eat nothing but apples for 3 days. It doesn't matter how many you eat, just don't eat anything else. I'm doing this to jump start & get back on track with my weight loss journey after being off for about 2 weeks. Anyone heard of this or done before? What do you guys think?

Really really really bad idea...18

I think it's completely unnecessary.
Do you think eating only carbs for 3 days is a good idea?
Why apples - what do you think they are going to "cleanse" you of?
Why not just go back to counting calories, eating normal food, with balanced, nutritious meals?10 -
Mmmm apple crisp...6

Apples make me hungrier. I'd eat apples for three days then everything in the kitchen the 4th.14

No real reason really. Just heard of it & figure I'd jump start my journey by trying it out. Although I'm sure I could use a cleanse9 -

Why? Dont your kidneys work? If so you'll want a doctor, not a cleanse.7 -
The ideas people can devise, and how many people who think it's really smart7

Do you believe or try everything you hear?
Again, bad idea. Why does eating real meals that fit your calorie deficit not sound a) more beneficial, or b.) more enjoyable?5 -

That actually does sound a lot better. Which is why I posted here to get opinions.4 -

Why in the world would you do this? And weight-loss doesn't need a jump start -- it just needs you to start something you can stick with.3

Your body does NOT need a "jumpstart".
Perhaps your brain does, kind of like the starter pistol in a race. If you are one of those, mentally prepare by cleaning out the refrigerator and cupboard of high calorie, low nutrition foods and go to the store and stock up on the "good stuff" after preparing a week's menu. Trust me, do that this weekend and you will be all set mentally to start on Monday. Of course, throw in a few apples when you go to the store. They are really healthy and good this time of year. Just add them into your overall food plan instead of eating nothing but apples.7 -

This^
I'm asking myself did the person that devised this really think it was good a idea, or was this just something to get his/her name out there.
I like apples....but sheesh.1 -
I was on a 3 day apple fast a while ago. Drank nothing but cider and no food for the entire week. Didn't lose any weight but I did meet some awesome people. Threw up a lot so I guess the cleanse works.10

Lol...... no.1

...or baked apples with cinnamon or caramel.1

I love apples, but this would get me over that feeling with a quickness.
OP, I second the suggestion to prepare for a fresh start by overhauling your fridge and pantry, looking for new recipes, reading the forum stickies, and looking into new and different ways to exercise. Learn as much as you can about forming sustainable habits.2 -
I'm seriously considering an apple pie cleanse.
Even more seriously, we need to come up with a good suggestion for well-intentioned people like our friend here who want to "jumpstart." Like "5 Steps in 5 Days with MFP!"
People want to Do Something so badly, and just logging that first meal isn't momentous enough. It's unfortunate because probably the most sustainable approach is a low-key one. Just do one small thing. Then do it again. Then when that's a habit, add on another thing.11 -
Only in Death Note lol1

'Detoxing' is already done by your liver and kidneys. There is no kick start, magic potion or pill.
*Weigh and log everything that goes in your mouth.
* Stick to a modest calorie deficit.
* Lose weight.
(* Copy/pasted because I am lazy.)4 -
I like the bear claws with Apple filling from Dunkin. Could totally do that for 3 days.2

You did right to get opinions
It is very unhealthy to eat one food, doesn't matter what it is.
It doesn't jump start anything, it's all lies and so are cleanses.
Eat any foods you like up to your calories and you'll be good.2 -
