Looking for Concept 2 rower to use

Look at it this way: It's cheaper than a rowing shell and oars (ask a woman who owns both ). Darned sport is addictive!

Our local university sometimes sells a shell, but I've never known them to sell a C2.

Some of the big indoor races sell the new-except-race-weekend C2s after the event at a very small discount, but you usually have to sign up in advance and pick it up at the race site right after.

In my experience used C2 rowers are WAY overpriced - - models 5-10 yrs old and older are only being offered at $750-800.

For just $150-200 more you can buy a new one delivered to your door w/a full factory warranty. So, why even consider buying used?

The few that are sold for less are generally older beat up gym models that require substantial reconditioning, the cost of which would probably increase the cost to the price of a new one. There was an example of one such C2 recently offered on Craigslist for $500 but it was admittedly priced "that low" because of its very poor condition.

Generally, you get what you pay for but, in the case of used C2's, you will often pay more than it is worth and it would be much more sensible to bite the bullet and just buy one new and, if you sell it, make someone else overpay to buy it used from you.
