Generally I listen to porn audio while running. It's a continuous reminder that I would rather be doing something else...

probably don't belong in this thread, but i don't do music while i work out. i like the silence and the space inside my own head, especially for lifting. i like thinking about what i'm doing, i guess. and i actually like a calm kind of headspace, not an all-amped-up one.

but driving, though :p i have only one seriously antisocial habit that i can think of. it's cranking the volume and opening all the windows so everyone has to hear what i think they should hear. it was especially bad when i was into this band called fokofpolisiekar about five years ago.

That's how I feel about everything I do, everyday. I don't have random moments where I want silence.. I want silence nearly 24/7 (except for the sounds of my teens .. a quiet teen is a frightening sound..) What is rare for me is actually wanting music. But then it's like one or two songs and I start feeling that irritation at noise rise up again and I turn it off before I shatter my phone.

I skip the first 30 minutes of church to avoid the music, and our church generally has an AMAZING band.. generally.. last few weeks they have this annoying guy up there that goes on and on and on and on and on and.. and I walk out.. I go from smiling at the beginning (tolerantly).. to giving him the "shut the F up already!" Stink eye and just grabbing my purse and storming out. I wait for my kids in the car. I don't know why I hate noise but I have ALWAYS been this way. I remember beating my baby doll at 5 and snapping her head off because it was saying "mama" to much and screaming at every loud noise! Dear Lord I need therapy.. I killed toys..

Can't work out if the music doesn't get the blood flowing!

I switch between classic rock 2000's alternative and new country. I'm very random.

For lifting it's usually metal or Pandora's new rock station for cardio it's on the complete opposite end of the spectrum with bluegrass/country

Tracks from certain movie scores that I find inspirational. Like "Turtle" from the movie Cinderella Man or the theme from Game of Thrones. I'm a nerdy fan of movie scores, though.

If I'm working out or running a short distance (like say 3 miles), I prefer hiphop/pop.

If I'm running a longer distance, I prefer long songs because I can zone out easier. So I find myself listening to a lot of bands like Phish and the Dave Matthews Band :P
