Hi all,

Claudette here. March 9th will be my 50th birthday and I need/want to lose as much weight as I can for that big one :) I stand at 5 foot and currently my scale is topping out at 186.8(as of this morning) While I would love to be at my goal of 135 for that big day and I know that really isn't reasonable, so I would love to at least hit the 155 mark, and then get the remaining 20 gone. My heaviest weight was 196.5 and 5 years ago I dropped down to 138, only 8 pounds to my goal at that time, but the uncertainty and poor self esteem set back in and I gained just about all of it back over the last 2 years. I am hoping that if I hit my goal this time that I can stay out of my head and just look at the success I plan to make.

I would love to have some supportive, motivational friends who too are looking to lose the weight and get fit.

Thanks
Claudette

If I'm being honest, whenever I've had clients that look to meet a certain weight for an "event", weight regain is almost inevitable afterward. It's because the focus was on the event and not the reason why weight gain happened in the first place.
Now yes you can feel better and increase confidence, but that all can easily be shattered by just gaining back 10lbs and toss you down the road to more weight regain. This is unfortunately not uncommon and why people yo yo so much and restart over and over again.
So, you CAN lose weight while doing this, however I would focus on the possible reasons why you over eat and work on those behaviors the most. Whether it be stress or marriage or work, etc., identify what triggers you to possibly be over eating and tackle it head on. Taking care of that will help to ensure that once you meet your goal, you be much more able to maintain your weight than regain it back.

I am 50 in 12 weeks. I've reset my goals, I've 14lbs to lose. Have hit a blip, from being in maintenance for 18 months have in last 3 weeks piled on 7lbs.... so am back to tight logging, tight measuring. I want to know if menopause is playing a part. It hadn't been past 3 years but I'm not convinced anymore. We shall see by my 50th birthday. This is day 2 of my 12 week challenge.
