@jesslla I personally save that option for bathtub spiders

On topic: I'm pear-shaped, close to hourglass when I'm at my ideal weight, and fat has always been my happy macro, so I eat more of it than generally recommended.

Oh, spiders and those big roaches (I'm in Texas, they come inside sometimes and I hate it) always get the nukes. Doesn't do a damn thing to the roaches though.

I'm very pear shaped (35"-29"-41"). Calories in, calories out works for me.

It's called estrogen dominance! Body fat makes you hold on to excess estrogen.

    See these websites:
    http://www.drnorthrup.com/estrogen-dominance/
    https://www.womentowomen.com/hormonal-health/estrogen-dominance/
    https://www.drlam.com/blog/estrogen-dominance-part-1/1704/

Consider getting rid of all of the chemicals in your home. Try going fragrance / dye free or natural cleaners. Frebreeze and similar products are endocrine disruptors and can actually make it difficult for people to lose weight. Think about getting rid of make-up, scented lotions and perfume unless they are paraben free.

I am also taking a boatload of natural progesterone (prometrium 200 mgs.) Discuss this with your doctor. Based on your family history of breast cancer, it may well save your life or not be right for you.

Maintaining a calorie deficit as well as switching to low sugar (hidden in canned and packaged food) / low carb (no more than 100 g daily) with high protein and healthy fats (coconut oil, olive oil, chicken skin, grass fed beef fat) will assist you in lowering the amount of body fat you store.

Just had to hilight this absolute pearler. How do you propose getting rid of all chemicals in your home? This very sentence shows you have no understanding of basic science.

I just skimmed these studies, so correct me if i'm wrong, but they seem to say that a lower fat diet led to thinner thighs than a high fat diet, other things being equal:

I'll let the article correct you.

In conclusion, consumption of a relatively low GL diet may induce loss of IAAT during weight maintenance conditions, especially in women. During weight loss, consumption of a low GL diet may affect energy partitioning, enhancing loss of fat relative to lean mass compared to a high GL, low-fat diet. Further studies are needed to identify mechanisms linking low GL diet to loss of visceral and total fat, and for gender-specific effects.

GL isn't fat. GL is glycaecemic load.. or foods that have a greater effect on blood sugars. That would be sugars and carbs. They are saying a lower gl diet and high fat diet will produce greater fat loss. That's from the first link.. the government site.

@GlassAngyl - the study says the low-GL group had a higher fat intake (39% vs 27%), and it appears they had less reduction in thigh fat than the high GL group which ate lower fat:
"Women on both the low GL diet and high GL diet lost thigh SAT {subcutaneous fat} (5.8%, 9.8%, respectively, P<0.01) and thigh IMAT {intramuscular fat} (9.4%, 11.9%, respectively, P<0.05)"
