    I have a huge selection of gloves but the big problem with Raynaud's is that your blood supply virtually switches off so you have no heat to keep in with insulation. Once they get cold they stay cold no matter how good the gloves. I end up having to watch my hand close around my bottle when I need a drink because I can't feel a thing. Not too great for braking finesse either!
    My children have bought me some heated inner gloves with battery packs but I haven't tried them yet.

    Merino wool socks are lovely and warm. Sandwich bags are an interesting way to do it - I've resorted to stuffing newspaper inside my jersey before when caught out by a temperature drop so definitely like your initiative.
