How much did I gain?

So I had a really stressful week as I just lost my job and I ended up eating a bunch of extra calories from Sunday until Thursday.
On Sunday I ate 600 cals over my TDEE
On Monday I ate 700 cals over my TDEE
On Tuesday I ate 700 less calories to make up for Monday
On Wednesday I ate 200 cals over my TDEE
On Thursday I ate at maintenance
I ended up going from 48.7 KG to 50KG and am still in shock.
Is it possible to gain that much weight in 4 days?

Water weight - did you eat a lot of extra sodium too with the extra calories?

You ate the equivalent of 2200 extra calories, about 2/3 lb, assuming your TDEE and your calories are accurate.. Sorry about your job.

So, you basically ate 800 cals over maintenance all up? That equals such a tiny bit of actual weight gain it's not even worth worrying about. As Ready2Rock said, most of the jump is going to be water weight.

Also, just curious, but how tall are you?

Anything above that (roughly) would then be water weight from extra carbs/sodium, and extra food or food residue in transit through your digestive system.

Water weight drop time is unpredictable. All you can do is drink adequate ( not crazy excessive!) water to flush it out. Digestive transit can take 50+ hours. But you'll drop back in a few days, as long as your eating returns to normal.

Take heart: You can handle this. You have the strength and resilience you need. One positive step after another, you'll get through. Wishing you a good course to new opportunities!

P.S. Last weekend, I ate about 5000 calories over TDEE, spread across 2 days - just for fun, in my case. 5+ pounds up on the scale on Monday. One week later, without doing anything extreme, I'm back to my pre-splurge weight. You'll get there, too.

Awesome ! Did you cut back on calories or continued eating at maintenance to get back to your weight?

Every molecule of carbs has 4 molecules of water that attaches to it. So take the weight you "gained" and divide it by 5 and that's closer to what you might have gained.
It also might not stick at all.
