I am also stunned that people will not permit someone to recognise the transformation which has been made in the quality of their lives by adding dietary supplements To have done as you all are telling me would have me totally dependant on people within a care facility because my health would have continued its ever decreasing spiral down to death, I would probably have died by now. The extremely restricted diet I was on was unsustainable because I was perpetuating my nutritional deficiencies so my problems were increasing by the month. The only permitted medication I was prescribed brought no relief, it amplified my respiratory and associated issues to the extent I feared, I'd die.
So everyone who tells me what I am saying is woo are actually telling me, I should have no quality of life, I should not enjoy the things you all take fore granted. I am unreasonable to have taken supplements which restored me to a quality of life I had before my 20's. I should not have a relationship with my 9 grandchildren and my recent born, gt grandson. You consider I have nothing of worth to add to their life experiences, I should be as I was when the 7th child was born, unable to lift let alone carry the mite. With my husband we'd taken many off for holidays they would otherwise not have enjoyed. I did substitute for parent at times. I am a hands on kind of person and am enjoying being able to do more with them all again.
It was my 7th grandchild on the autistic spectrum who understood my chemical sensitivities. Ironic really some one who has difficulties communicating feeling/reactions understood mine! I am grateful for the digestive enzymes produced in the US, they are extra sales which many detest but they address my dietary issues so I can have a normal diet again. I am experiencing benefits, I'd been told to live with a tongue which was painfully over large, now its comfortable and lies within my mouth almost perfectly at last. My NHS doctors were absolutely not help at all.
To continue from the comment I made about my arthritis. Having replaced the official knee exercises for accredited foot ones my pain is gone. In remission again, I'll be keeping the supplements high till the outside temperature is better. I'll be running down Exeter high street again, as long as I keep my feet and knees warm.
Go do your worst, I will continue to tell people what worked for me. Like I say, no two people with Hashimoto's are the same, many have far more autoimmune conditions existing in parallel.
It's wonderful that you've achieved the results you have. I'd urge you to continue exactly what has worked well for you.
When you move beyond simply telling your n = 1 story, to discounting mainstream evidence-based scientifically sound medicine and advocating that others use things that reportedly worked for one person over things that have been clearly and repeatedly shown to work for many people, including some who've personally reported here? That crosses the line into woo.
Truly, I wish you nothing but the most robust health, enjoyment of life and your family, and happiness as you pursue the health course you choose for yourself.
Certainly, tell people what worked for you, plain and simple.
Go beyond that to speculate based what you believe, credit stories from one credentialed person with a supplement to shill over many with equal/better credentials and far better evidence, ignore and implicitly discount others' n = 1 stories of mainstream medicine working for them (which are equal weight to yours), and so forth? Expect people to react to that as "woo".
Please, though, do thrive on, in happiness and health!6
