I'm excellent with chopsticks, despite being left-handed and having to figure it out completely on my own because directions are always illustrated for right handed normies.0

I don't understand how people eat rice with chopsticks, that looks extremely challenging0

Yes Wood & Metal. I spent 5 tours (8 years total) in Korea while I was in the military1

I actually prefer chopsticks to eat with. I learned early and there is something about eating with them I love.1

Yes. Funny story, hubby and I were out for Chinese food one night, and I like to eat Chinese food w/ chopsticks. When I asked the girl for some chopsticks, she was surprised. Later on she came over and was amazed the short Italian girl knew how to eat with them- yes, even rice! I think she got a kick out of it b/c she didn't expect it.0

I can stab and use two hands and shakily bring it to my mouth to drop it on the table. Soo.. no?1

Found this interesting:
Eating rice with chopstick is accepted but traditionally considered to be practice of low class and may be frowned upon.
Traditionally, one will use chopsticks to pick up a side dish, lay it down on the table, then pick up the spoon to eat rice or soup.1 -
I can honestly say I can pick up ONE tobiko roe with them.

So is sticking your chopsticks into your food at a perpendicular angle. You only do this if you're giving the rice as a ceremonial offering to a deceased person:

Tell the truth. What do native chopstick users think when they're observing adults eating in public who are not good at eating with chopsticks?
I think it's a combination response: Some are genuinely happy that you're trying out their utensils and attempting to fit in; others are probably silently judging/laughing at you and there's a third category who probably just think the chopstick user is an amusement for them to giggle at.2 -
I never could until one drunken night in Las Vegas when I picked them up and could use them perfectly.2
