That is what has an impact on anyone's weight loss. Exercise not always so much, but it's great to do for your muscles and overall health. It's important to try and maintain the muscle mass you have.

You don't need to workout for two hours a day to lose weight. Plug your stats into mfp, get a calorie goal, and log your food to hit that goal. Then log your exercise, how ever much you want to do, and eat back at least some of those calories.
How many calories people eat depends on their height, weight, day-to-day activity level, goals, etc.8 -
I ride a bicycle for more than two hours because it is fun, not to lose weight.10

You may want to rethink excessive cardio: https://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/why-big-caloric-deficits-and-lots-of-activity-can-hurt-fat-loss.html/12

Yep. But I've also gained weight doing two hours or more of cardio a day. What matters is that you eat less than you use.15

The only thing I would lose if I did 2 hours of cardio per day is my mind.29

Yes ... this.1 -
Isn't two hours exercise too much?1

I do and I have lost 10 pounds in the past month5

Except for hiking, I do not do any cardio for more than 2 hrs at a time. The most that I do on machines is 30 mins on the StairMaster in combo w/1 hr on the treadmill. Otherwise, I'll just do 30 mins/day on my rower.
For the past 3 months, I ocassionally have been hiking 2-4 hrs (4-9 miles) in a day, once or twice a week, but I am in maintenance and am not trying to lose a lot of weight, just enough to stay w/in my maintenance range.1 -

No. Nowhere near "too much ".8 -
I do a lot of long distance walking and hiking, and average about 80 miles per week (I'm a dog walker so the cardio is mostly incidental.) I just love being outside and exploring the city, which causes me to not even think about the duration or mileage, I'm just happy being active and outdoors.7
-
I've been averaging around 18,000 steps a day of walking and running over the past 2 and a half years which would average out to about 2 hours a day.
I lost 80 lbs in the first year, and have maintained my goal in the next year and a half.
None of this would be relevant if I hadn't also been logging everything in MFP and making sure I stuck to my weekly calorie limit by not eating too much or too little.14 -
When I suddenly increase my exercise I temporarily increase weight (body adjusting). I also get flaming hungry within 48 hours.
I steadily lost weight when I closely tracked my calories and it trended downward monthly.2 -

Exercise helps with fat loss, what you eat is the main factor.4

+1 if I ran 15-20 miles or biked 50 miles a day, I'd be really hungry3 -

I lost weight without doing 2 hrs of cardiovascular per day.8

Yeah, a week or so ago I worked out for 3 hours and saw undeniable results the very next day. I was sore as hell.4

I do an hour every day walking the dog plus an hour or more running, biking or hiking. It has nothing to do with my weight loss/maintenance. I do it because it's what I enjoy doing. It also allows me to eat more calories, which I appreciate. But since I get a lot more hungry when I'm doing more exercise, it's kind of a wash.
I lost weight by eating less than I was burning. I gained it when I ate more than I was burning.1 -

Nope.
2 hours on a bike is just getting warmed up...5 -
The only way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you burn. Cardio burns calories, which can help create a calorie deficit. But 2 hrs of cardio a day sounds crashingly boring, not to mention a perfect recipe for burn out, exhaustion, and/or injury.1

Absolutely!1 -
When we're saying two hours of cardio a day, are we talking cardio that's pushing you or walking/riding/etc at a more sedate pace? Cos I do about 10 hours of running and high pace elliptical work a week and people think I'm crazy, if I upped that to 14 I think I'd start to agree. I do walk at least an hour or two a day as well but I don't really see that as cardio for me.
So I think two hours a day of intense cardio would possibly be too much to be good for anyone but a very fit, very dedicated person, but two hours of walking and the like is perfectly sustainable. As far as weight loss, that's cico any way you look at it.0 -
Lots of people work active jobs for more than 2 hours a day.1

I assumed that it must mean deliberate exercise. Walking is such a normal thing to me I forget that some people count it as exercise - to me it's a method of transport. I was easily walking more than 2 hours a day while I gained most of this weight. I think I'd find it harder to put on weight if I was running 2 hours a day (because I'd find it harder to eat that many calories, and I'd have to eat fairly sensibly to be able to run every day for that long without feeling ill), but I'd probably also do my legs in and I don't think I could fit it in with all my other responsibilities.1
