Feeling guilty

Wanted to take a salad to work today but for some reason the salad I had went bad so I went to a local convience store to get one and they didn't have any made and didn't have time to wait so I just grabbed a chicken sandwich. Didn't realize it was 770 calories! I think that I just really messed up. My calories are 1,520. I never get to that usually eating just a little over a 1,000 except for yesterday I logged over 1,300. Feeling guilty about the calorie amount of this one sandwich. Guess I need to make sure the salad I have in my fridge is good the night before.

It happens, try not to beat yourself up about it!
The most important thing is overall consistency. Sure, you may be over your goal today, but as long as you jump back on the horse tomorrow, it will be a minimal blip in your long weight loss journey.3 -
Do you mean that your calorie target is 1520, but you usually just eat 1000? Whether it's undereating or bad logging, it has to stop, along with the food guilt. Maybe you can make and bring a sandwich from home to better control your calories, and still eat food you enjoy.20

Food should not make you feel guilty. And you should be eating 1520 either every day or averaged out over the week. 1000 is way too low for the vast majority of people.14

I'm a busy person so that's the amount I usually eat. Especially with the holidays I'm busy getting things ready. Yesterday I brought a sandwich and cottage cheese from home which was 300 calories. I just wanted a salad but the kit I got went bad. Would have made a sandwich but ran out of sandwich bags. Going to the store tonight to get more supplies.8

If you've been routinely under your goal, being over your goal today is probably a good thing. Goals are set for a reason. You are supposed to meet them.14 -

Eating 1000 a day isn't healthy....you know how to eat more otherwise you wouldn't be here so take some of those foods and add them if you value your hair, healthy skin and not ending up ill with malnutrition. Being too busy to eat is a naff excuse...you can make up calories with that 700 calorie sandwich very easily.
I do it all the time with no issues. I take vitamins to make up for it. I will bump up my calories a little more after the holidays which will allow me more time to prepare foods myself. I also tend to eat less around the holidays on purpose to avoid holiday weight gain. Thanksgiving I didn't lose any weight but I didn't gain any either so must be doing something right. Right now I rely on the barcode scanner on mfp and last night I ordered out and mfp had the restaurant on their list so I was able to add what I ate off that menu. I just thought that calorie amount for one sandwich was horrible.13 -
I also have ulcerative colitis so I try to control my diet by limiting fats as much as I can otherwise I end up taking residence in the bathroom0

When I have a uc flare I eat much less or nothing at all. This diet is also to try and eliminate those flares so I don't have to go without eating at all.1

Taking vitamins cannot make up for not eating enough calories.
I'm not sure what you mean by the statement that you "do it all the time with no issues," but you can't always tell if you're hurting yourself just by how you feel in the moment.12 -

With MFP you are supposed to eat all the calories you were told to. Eating 200-500 under your goal- and the minimum recommended calories- regularly and saying you feel guilty for eating a higher calorie food item that still left you under your goal is not a healthy path.
You didn't mess up or do anything wrong eating a 770 calorie sandwich that fit your calorie goal.
You are messing up by undereating regularly.

Stop trying to justify undereating.
It's not healthy.22 -
How tall are you, OP?0

Had doctors tell me the same thing. But I always felt like crap after eating what they reccomend. I end up more tired and end up constantly in the bathroom. Eliminating fat is the only thing that helps uc and if eliminating fat also means less calories and I don't feel sick and weak then it's worth the low calories to feel normal. I occasionally eat something with more fat but I end up feeling sick. This is more than for weight-loss, it's to control a major health condition. I just know what my body can physically tolerate.9 -

You can still eat more calories that are low fat.8
