Biggest hurdle: Having to put back on some healthy weight. Fights what I have been doing for 2 years. I am tempted to just call it bulking! Also, gym was closed on new years day!!!! I don't take days off, neither can they! LOL6 -

Success/struggles of the week: Nothing much to report this week. More birthday extravaganzas but managed to start working out a bit more. I’m also in the midst of exams for my masters AND started back at work, so my stress levels are high. Ugh. Why is January so fun and yet so hard? I think a good Jillian Michaels DVD is in order today to help with the anxiety. Hope you’re all having a most peaceful month! xx

Successes/struggles: Had a pretty good week - ate under net maintenance calories during the week days and slightly over on the weekend. I am happy to see my trend go down .7 lbs this week. I had a low scale weigh of 124.6 this week. Hopefully that is an indication that I can move my maintenance range down a few points. Have a great week everyone! Keep on keepin' on!7 -

Success/struggles of the week: I really needed to get back to this group! My life has changed so much, and the stress is definitely a challenge for me with my diet. My husband (who was previously unemployed last summer) got a job - yay! But in Boston, which is nearly 400 miles away! He is currently living there, while I am back in NJ getting ready to sell our house. Our son commutes to college where he has a full tuition scholarship, so we need to keep him here in state for obvious financial reasons. So everything is actually really good, but a little stressful. I am now responsible for the house and the cars (which makes me terribly nervous - all the time)! And of course I miss my hubby.
My weight has slowly crept up over the last few months with all the goodies people have given us. And this very cold, very snowy winter weather makes walking outdoors impossible. I feel flabby and blah most of the time!
My goal is to recommit to my healthy eating goals (balancing my micros and trying to stay within my calorie count). I want to be good to my body and stay healthy this winter. I need accountability buddies here, so I may ask some of you to be my friends on MFP. Please say yes! This is so important to me! Thank you9 -

Success/struggles of the week: Struggle last week was enjoying too many extras. I plan to get back on track and eliminate the goodies. TOM will start in a couple days. I've done good getting my strength and cardio in. I’d prefer my weight stay around 127 and hopefully I’ll be back on track and stay there.

Successes/struggles of the week:
Did a Five Day Fast Mimicking Diet this past week, so I’m unsurprised to see the scale go down. Back to normal this week but have low motivation for cardio for some reason. Therefore I plan to do weights today and save swim session for tomorrow.
My weight is just on the overweight side of BMI but my waist circumference to height ratio and calipers put me at lower end of normal weight. Since I went to goodwill and bought size six jeans ( not stretchy jeans either) and they fit - tight but not painfully or scandalously so - I’m thinking I am at a good maintenance high end weight. My mindset is still weight LOSS tho, and I’m unsure how to make myself FEEL I have permission to stop trying to lose weight.
Part of the problem is my clothes on my hourglass shape. My waist is pleasing, even a bit too small, but my butt/thighs seem huge to me. The 13 inch + difference between these two measurements means clothes, except for some types of leggings tend to an unflattering fit. Last night my husband said I tended to dress in old lady clothes, like Amy on the Big Bang theory and I hid my shape.
I think I need to borrow my niece for a goodwill clothing spree to see if I can learn to dress to better fit my actual shape, not the way I think I’m supposed to look.4 -
@ryenday I used to have that hourglass figure as a young woman. Losing weight and going through menopause flipped the script, and I now have only an 8 inch difference between waist and hips. (Mind you, loose skin and residual fat are part of the problem. Also, my tushy fell down!)
Highly tailored clothes always look great on an hourglass or X figure. There are lots of websites out there that can help you with finding looks that work for your figure. The hardest part is finding pants that fit a curvy frame!1 -
@fidangul Oh, my! That is terrible! *hugs*1

Thankyou to all of you for your well wishes. I'm more or less recovered from the food poisoning. And the pain in my hip and lower back is now much more manageable. I don't expect any success this week, I'll give myself a brake and hope to get back to things next week.4

Good News: Not much this week...
Bad News: I've been sick as of late and weight maintainance has taken a back seat. I think everything everyone has, I've gotten in the past 2 months. I really hate winter. My weight increased 2lbs for 3 days, then went back down 2 for 2 days. So I think it was just water...today I was 140.8. But I guess this is maintainance and I should expect ups and downs. I haven't eaten well at all - actually I'm way hungrier and eating "ALL" the food. Not even sure how many cough drop calories I've taken in, at least 200...LOL I'm hoping once I stop hacking and blowing my nose every 2 minutes I'll feel like myself again.
I'm hoping by next week I'm in better spirits. I hope you are all kicking butt and taking names.7 -

@kristen8000 You are within your range. Stop weighing in every day!!! Once a week is more than enough. Yes, we all have fluctuations in our weight. In maintenance it is time to settle down and let everything take it's course. Do your clothes still fit? Then you are OK.
Winter can be a real bear. Cold and dark seem to be the themes of the day. After a couple of winters in maintenance, may I throw some stuff out there? Will anyway, lol. Walk laps around inside the house. Find some new or old videos on youtube. Dust off your elliptical/treadmill/stationary bike. I really miss running and my walks with my husband, but I do not miss my fat! The snow will melt, the sun will come out, we will get back outside!5 -

Success/struggles of the week:
I suffered food poisoning on Tuesday that continued through the week. It's the first time this has happened to me and the experience was horrific. The stomach pain was agonising.
Like that wasn't enough, on Friday night, my hip muscles decided to go into a spasm. A sharp pain like no other and I couldn't stand or sit up straight. The Doctor says it'll take 6-12 weeks for it to get better. He gave strong painkillers and they make me drowsy.... staying over at mum's until I'm at least a little better.
I've also been having hungry days and loss of appetite days. And cravings for sweet things. I think the health issues were a hidden factor. I probably eat for comfort. I had milk chocolate biscuits and cream crackers for dinner one night. And lamb doner for breakfast another day. Oops!
I gave up logging in my food diary for the last day. Ignorance is bliss 'n' all that.
Not my best week. Struggles all the way. Anyway I hope that the new week will bring better days.
That sounds terrible! I am so sorry you had such a rough week. Glad you are staying at your mother's until you are feeling better.1 -
