It took me just shy of 7 months to lose 50 lbs.
I'm 5'4" and I started at 189 at the end of April and on the morning of Thanksgiving, I hit 139.

Took me over a year, eating around 1200 calories, without exercise.

It totally depends on how aggressive your goal is. My goal was to reach the middle of the healthy BMI and 5 years later I'm still not there! (it took me 1.5 year to get 2 lbs from that though - total loss 80 lbs).

The less you have to lose, the longer it will take, especially if your goal is to get pretty lean.

Question, how long did it take you to lose 50 pounds? I’m wanting to lose 50 in 6-8 months but fear it’s not possible. Stats: 5,4, 181 pounds. 1600 calories per day with ~20-30 minutes exercise every day. Walking and light weight lifting

It took me about 8 months.
Net 1250 cal for the first 16 weeks.
    1 month break.
Net 1350 cal for the next 16 weeks.

    I lost 48-49 lbs, over a year and a half, going from 185 to 136-137 at 5'5''.

I deliberately took a long time to lose weight as I'm unable to function below say 1600 calories per day.

Eating just a bit below maintenance was a great preparation for maintenance itself, which I've been successfully doing for about nine months now.

I wish so much that this was the goal for more people on here and not just to lose as fast as possible.

I agree, my thing is that it’s looking like starting a family is going to become a topic for my SO and I here in the next year. My goal is to lose the weight so that I can prevent things like gestational diabetes, etc. Essentially getting healthy in preparation. To get to my ideal weight (130-135-doc approved) for my body frame I need to lose 50. I’m taking in 1600 calories a day and exercising 30 minutes daily. Hopefully that’ll do the trick :)
