Etiquette on PMs?

Hello all,
I’m new here. What is the etiquette regarding PMs. If we find someone posting interesting stuff, is it ok to message them or do people hate that?
Thanks,
Andrew

i dont care if i get messages.

If people have good-will comments or questions about my posts, I don't mind getting messages from them.4

As long as people are polite, I love getting messages!2

Telling someone in public is always good too!4 -
As long as it's not 'hey gurl', I don't mind relevant PMs. I took down my profile pic of my face so that seems to help keep the creeps away.
I'm always happy to give advice or expand on something I've talked about in the forums.5 -
I thought this was going to be etiquette on PMS and was legitimately looking forward to some answers30

Yeah, I definitely don't mind so long as you're not trying to sell me something or get me to join something. I've never gotten any hookup messages, but that wouldn't be welcome either.2

#1 etiquette tip: Don't send pics of your junk.42

Yeah. Don't be creepy and you should be good. If people don't like it they just won't respond.5

The first rule about PMS is you don't talk about [someone else's] PMS.11 -
The rules are: 1. Don't be creepy. 2. Don't send pics of your penis.
Just be polite and you will be good.6 -
...or anyone's penis, would be my preference...10

The only etiquette tip for that is, "Run." I don't show my face/body either to avoid anyone thinking I want to see their junk. Has worked well so far.0 -
#1 etiquette tip: Don't send pics of your junk.
Do you mean no one is interested in seeing pics of what is in my garage waiting to go to the recycling depot?
Yaknow what they say- one man's junk is another man's treasure.
Sorry, my brain hasn't been inserted yet and I am in silly mode.
Cheers, h.

#1 etiquette tip: Don't send pics of your junk.
And #2: Don't send "let's chat" which is just MFP creeper-speak for "I wanna send you pics of my junk but I don't wanna get tossed from MFP for it".
Yeah, even li'l ol' lady granny types like me get this *baby-feline* nonsense. SMH.
PMs with actual, friendly, on-point comments or questions? Always welcome. Personally, I often reply. But it's not a dating site, let alone a hook-up site.
One guy stopped PM-ing me "let's chat" (and other nonsense) when I said he could PM me anything he'd say to a neighbor in church, in front of others. IRL, I'm agnostic, but it's still a pretty good starting rule.16 -
If you send a friend request always include a message saying why you want to be friends with them. I tend to just decline requests without a message.

As long as they are appropriate it’s fine:)2
