While botanically speaking a tomato is a fruit, as many love to state as a point of being wise. However in the U.S. in 1893 this fruit or vegatable issue was brought to the Supreme Court and in its infinite wisdom ruled it to be a vegatable.

So what it comes down to is the difference of wise, and wisdom. Being wise is knowing a tomato is a fruit, but wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad. ;)

But only so they could tax it! According to my fruit book

"The final verdict, proclaimed on 10 May 1893, ruled that a tomato is to be classified as a vegetable, at least in the sense of the Tariff Act of 3 March 1883, which at the time prescribed a tax for imported vegetable but not for fruit. Despite this authoritative decision, denying a tomato the status of a fruit reflects political rather than scientifically logical considerations."

Yes, it was actually so it could be tax exempt

They also gave this reasoning in the ruling:
"Botanically speaking,” said Justice Gray, “tomatoes are the fruit of the vine, just as are cucumbers, squashes, beans and peas. But in the common language of the people…all these vegetables…are usually served at dinner in, with, or after the soup, fish, or meat, which constitute the principal part of the repast, and not, like fruits, generally as dessert.”

Something NEAT - being that an atom is 99.9999999% space and we are composed of atoms - we are really 99.999999% space

So if we study space were basically studying ourselves?

yep and under the laws of quantum mechanics and multiverses - we are everywhere at the same time

Ive read a number of books on Quantum Physics, I am simply mesmerized by it all. I was recently gifted a book entitled The elegant Universe by Brian Green. Cannot wait to dive in :)

it really is the stuff of science fiction but its all FACT - I think that is why i like it so much - well that and under the multiverse rule - I am somewhere right worth billions eating Oreos an I don;t have to workout

It is real and the knowledge of it gives us more power than we can humanly fathom.

Enjoy your billions... I don't like oreos, so I cant relate ;)

There's a Tesla in outer space, guys

Why didn't' they use an electric motor?

Electric motors cannot generate the thrust to break through the atmosphere I believe, though EM and Ion propulsion are viable for inter-space travel.

Our TDEE is made up of TEF, NEAT, EAT and BMR.

"Non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT) is the energy expended for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise. It ranges from the energy expended walking to work, typing, performing yard work, undertaking agricultural tasks and fidgeting. Even trivial physical activities increase metabolic rate substantially and it is the cumulative impact of a multitude of exothermic actions that culminate in an individual's daily NEAT"
