4-6,000 most days, but some days just 350! My excuse is I'm 71 and have joint problems which get worse if I push the exercise. but that app on the phone keeps me in touch with reality in terms of what sedentary means!!!4

My avarage is 11,000-13,000 steps. I bought a fitbit recently, and it has motivated me a lot to walk more. I've set my daily goal to 15,000 steps to have daily challenges.
anybody knows how it's possible to get in touch and keep track with other fitbit users? I'd love to have a few friends tracking their steps, too0 -

I can get really low steps if I don't try. I'm a teacher and I started teaching farther away, so I don't get to walk home ever. And the teaching load is lighter. This week I made it my goal to make sure my PHONE says 10k. So that means getting to the gym and walking on the treadmill if I'm not going to do it around the hood. Factor in how many steps I take while I work...make 13k total.
On a Sunday I can literally be like 3k. I need to fix that.5 -
My average over the last 6 month's has been 23383 steps a day but I find walking great therapy and live right next to a river (which is really just a creek) that has a dedicated walking/ cycling paththat is over 30 kms long.3

7000-9000. When I got my Fitbit I discovered I was only getting 3000-4000 which was kind of a shock to me, so I'm kind of proud I've doubled that. It's really helped my NEAT, which really helped me slowly shave off vanity pounds!
How much has your TDEE increased? 100-200 cals?

I was averaging about 3500 a day when I got my new phone that has a step and stair counter. So now I get between 6 and 7k a day just because it makes me more aware that I'd like to get the step count higher. Surprising how that works!1

Typically I do between 10 and 15k... more in the Spring/Fall... then I can get to 20k relatively easily (extra walk after dinner because it's still light out).1

Yep, I'd say right around 100-200. Wouldn't seem like much to bigger people, but for me it was that little extra wiggle room I needed to consistently hit a 250 cal deficit without being stabby6 -

Well, I'm ridiculous right now with the amount of steps I get at 30K, but I get a 1,000 calorie Fitbit adjustment.
Let me think. I get around 400 calories for 13K steps (I know that because that's what I do first thing in the morning and I see it when I log my morning tea).
I know my Fitbit is accurate for me, so that's the kind of burn for NEAT just from walking. I walk at a decent clip. My morning walk is a very brisk pace (around 4mph). The walks throughout the day are just my normal fast walking (around 3.5 mph).
So anyway, if you can take those two data points and crunch some numbers from them, good luck! I'm a bit hopeless with this stuff.
I'm older than you and shorter, so the calorie burn might be about the same once the variables cancel each other out.3 -

@bbell1985 you can approximate the probable Calories by playing with your mfp setting.
I am going to assume you're generally impacted by AT based on previous posts re low calories so the figures I will give you are higher than for most others.

Is it seriously so shocking that a 5'4" woman of 135-145 lbs maintains her weight on 1800? Sidesteel was my coach for quite awhile and he didn't think it was.1

I don't think it's shocking at all! I'm 5'2.5," 68 years old and maintain (127-131 range) on anywhere from 1750 - 2000 calories. I hit 20,000 steps everyday. That's my total for gym exercise and just regular activity.3 -

12K a day. My Garmin Connect adjusts my goal each day to exceed the previous day. At around 15k I'll probably hit it with a hammer, but so far it's good.2

Your 1800 maintenance with your stats indeed indicates that you're not affected by AT given that it represents an approximate activity factor of 1.4 (or lighty active in mfp speak), while your stated activity (excepting gym sessions) sounds closer to sedentary.
That would mean that the lower step numbers, which were also detailed in my previous post, would serve as more appropriate estimates in your particular case!4 -
