Not that you're listening, @tinaalisa15, but this is what real weight loss looks like. Not a straight line down.
Thanks! I don't know what the eff with my techno-fleas today! :laugh:0 -

I have to drag and drop off my desktop, or my photos do that. Can't load them from my phone at all without them being thumbnails.0 -

I can usually get them to work, I'm just going to give up for today. It's not like this is going to be helpful anyways.2 -
Someone may have suggested this already, but it could me due to time of the month. 1 - 2 weeks before my period I can count on weight loss slowing or stalling out completely. When I start my period or shortly after I lose A LOT very rapidly. Keep doing what you are doing and consider taking a break from the scale if it is going to derail you.0

And to make matters worse we are having a valentine day party on Wednesday and there will be so much sweets and foods. I HATE TEACHING KIDS DURING THE HOLIDAYS.
I also tossed my scale in the trash. it's incompetent8 -

You don't have to eat the food.
Your scale is pretty accurate if you ask me. You just need to understand how it works.4 -

There's ups and downs over a FIVE MONTH time period.1 -

Are you sure it's the scale? I would have said it sounds more like your body is against you. Or your mind.4 -

Why blame the scale for something your body does natural to help it function?4 -
A cheat meal=probably excess carbs and sodium=water weight gain
As we've all been saying, it's NOT the scale. It's the unrealistic expectations and impatience you're displaying.2 -
Here, I'm not trying to lose too much weight right now, but the DOTS are my actual weigh-in, and the trend line is just that - a trend that the app creates over time. This is how much my weight fluctuates, and I'm much smaller to begin with, which means your flucuations could very well be quite normal if you're actually sticking to, and being accurate with your diet.
Mostly feel like OP here is here to complain, but hey, sometimes a visual helps so I'll help in that department.4 -
I applaud the patience some of you are having here because, reallly...
@tinaalisa15 ... if you are on this journey to lose weight for the rest of your life, you are going to have to listen and take the advice that has been given. I have a "cheat day" every Sunday and I know the scale will go up for a couple days but by the end of the week I lose because I'm on track the rest of the week. If you don't take the time to listen and understand how your body works, you will never win this battle. This has to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. You cannot let the scale rule your life. I am assuming you have at least 125 pounds to lose from the weight you have said you are right now. You're going to have to decide how much you want it. No one here can convince you to listen, YOU have to decide to do it. It's clearly falling on deaf ears right now. When, and only when you decide to do this and to have the patience to do so, will you ever succeed. I wish you the best and hope at some point along the way something that someone has said will sink in. You are young and have a lot of years that you are going to have to deal with this. If you can get it under control now while you're still young, it will be much better than if you don't. Do you want to be doing this again and again for another 40-50 years? Probably not. It will have been a lot of time to be unhappy and unsuccessful. Try to put things in perspective for your own sake.9 -

^ I got that feeling as well.
OP, you may want to clarify what the intent of your thread is - whether you just want to vent/rant, or if you're actually seeking help/advice. It would save people some time and help them tailor their responses accordingly.2 -

I don't understand how to read this
The numbers along the bottom are the dates. The lines across the side are related to the weight. The points of fluctuation are the individual scale points. Each day, I entered my weight, and the up and downs from day to day are fairly obvious. As you can see, the progress OVER TIME is a downward trend. Day to day and week to week, it's up and down.
In short: stop freaking out about day to day fluctuations, it is progress over time that matters.8 -

Or just ignore, if no help is wanted.1 -
Thanks everyone. I've read through everyone's post and gained some clarity. I have pulled my scale out of the trash can and placed it in the bathroom. I'm now taking a massive poop. Maybe it's the sodium coming out9
