Libra App...

Hi Everyone,
After reading a few posts on here about daily weigh ins (before I was trying to stick to a Saturday morning at the gym but it wasn't always practical), last night I downloaded the Libra app on to my phone.
Put my first weigh in today and my expectations for loss so we'll see how it goes! Hopefully it'll help me understand how my body is changing and how it reacts to certain triggers (namely TOTM).

I love Libra, one of the best tools I've used for my weight loss. I used to quit calorie counting when I'd see the scale going up, not realising it was totally normal.
When I set up I found it helpful to add my previous weigh ins to it, to get an idea of how on track I was with my logging up til then.3 -
I love Libra! It really helps keep me on track, seeing my predicted trend line vs. my goal trend line.1

I love Libra, but I'd encourage you not to panic about anything it tells you until you have 2-3 months of data accumulated in it, and 2-3 months of experience using it, so you understand it. It's not magic, just statistics, so the trend line can be misleading or alarming at times.6

Thank you...I have mentally prepared myself to what trends it may show lol . To be fair I have only been tracking my calories properly for the last 3 weeks (on and off for a couple of months) and I know it takes time for any weight loss to show properly especially with only having 12lbs to lose. However I have began to feel the difference in my clothes, they are much more comfortable and loser too.

I've been using Libra for a few months and Happy Scale before that (went to Android) I'm a data junkie so I love to see the ups and downs and see what I maybe ate the day before (usually it's a diff in carbs/glycogen for me, I don't seem to react to sodium) or ovulation I'm good for 2lbs like clockwork. Love this app!2

I just started using Libra out of curiosity.
It's an easy and useful app to use to monitor your progress but I still record all of my daily weight measurements on MFP and Excel as well.
I record my weight the 1st thing each morning on MFP, add the weight entry to Libra later in the day and then bulk load data a week at a time into Excel.
Not sure what moving average Libra uses to set the trend line but I calculate a 7, 15 and 30 day moving average w/Excel.
There are a lot of other things I can do w/ Excel, like run correlations bet wt vs calories and macros. Of course, that's a lot more work than is required with Libra and the extra data, while interesting, really isn't essential.
On the other hand, you can get an "instant" read of the trend line in Libra by just clicking on "statistics" which will show that day's variance in the trend line for the last wk, 2 wks, month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 yr periods. Doesn't get much easier than that to evaluate your progress over time.
So, for most people, Libra and MFP are really all you need to monitoring and control your weight.
