How I’ve lost 10 pounds in 12 days..

I’m 20 years old And I’m 5’2 and weighed 162 pounds on February 14th. Today February 26 I weigh 152 pounds! 12 days and I’ve lost 10 pounds.I have been eating only veggies and fruits and nuts. Nothing else! And to drink only water and detox tea. Working out only like 2 days a week for an 1 or 2 hrs. The heaviest I’ve been was 175 when I was pregnant almost 2 years ago and ever since it’s been impossible to lose weight. I know it might be an extreme diet for some but I just wanted to show that it’s helping me and I’m so happy!

None of those things are protein rich.

No, you are not going to die but it is not a long term solution.

No but if you continue like this you likely won't be happy with the results.

    Is this tea bad ?

I assume you don't have any of the medical issues they list in the warnings, so it's probably not bad. It's just a bunch of naturally occurring diuretics to dehydrate your body so you see that faster water weight loss early on. You'll probably find it less effective as you go forward, though.

Listen, I know it feels good to get pounds off fast like that. It gives you momentum. But you really should consider reading the stickies in the weight loss forums about losing too fast. The faster you lose, the more muscle you lose along with fat ESPECIALLY if you are eating as little protein as you are. Also, losing that fast with such an aggressive deficit can lead to other problems.

10 pounds in 12 days due to water weight. Not trying to down play this but come back in a month.

    True true.

I have poop tea as well. But I'm chronically constipated.

You don't have that much to lose so 10lbs in 12 days was very aggressive and ok it might kick start your 'diet' but you need to think nutrients and giving your body proper fuel.

As others have said already, you don't want to lose muscle and rapid weight loss does just that.

How many calories is that/are you getting?

I assume you are trying to lose *fat*, not just *weight*, right? Most of what you have lost so far is water, particularly if you have been on a diuretic tea. It made the scale go down (and that's fine... everyone enjoys that initial boost), but it really isn't accomplishing your goal. If you have been severely under-eating (you don't actually mention calories), you are losing nice lean muscle. Again, not what you want. So make sure you are getting the 1200 calorie minimum for women and don't become discouraged when the *weight* loss slows down or even goes up due to fluctuating water levels in the body. :)

Just drink normal tea, none of those diuretic diet fads. Herbal teas, Rooibos, chamomile, mint, that sort of thing. And you do need carbs, the whole keto-vegan approach you seem to be taking isn't a) sustainable and b) body-comp friendly.

Anyone else thinking of Freelee the Banana Girl when reading this thread?
