Today when I was doing cardio I could actually see my heartbeat through my chest and near my stomach. Anyone ever had this happen? What does it mean?

I might've been, I really pushed myself today (not to an extreme extent though). My cardio doctor said that my heart was enlarged from exercise, but never have I see it do what it did today0 -
Are you 100% certain it was your heart, not just a visible pulse in a blood vessel nearer the surface?7

Hmm, now that I did some research you're probably right! What if my chest and abdominal area was doing that at the same time? It felt very weird. I go to my heart doctor for a check up next week, I might ask him.0 -

Definitely ask your doctor. I can't say I've ever seen my pulse anywhere, though I certainly can feel it. But I don't have a heart condition, and have been working out for years.
Not knowing what you mean by "felt weird": If you had any negative symptoms along with it (faintness, weakness, etc.), you might want to moderate exercise intensity until after that consult.2 -
Please report back and let us know what your Dr says.1

I believe that is your aorta. A visible pulse is not uncommon particularly if you're a slimmer person. I can see my abdomen pulsate almost down to the belly button. If it's any comfort to you, I had an ultrasound (for digestive problems) last year that was normal. They check the blood flow through the aorta. I also had some tests done by a cardiologist, because I needed clearance for an endoscopy procedure, and the ticker checked out fine. If you feel fine then your visible pulse is probably nothing to worry about.4

I really think this is something you need to talk to your heart doctor about, not a bunch of people on this forum. I would call his office pronto, since you have a heart issue. Wishing you all the best.1 -

Who said I have a heart issue? I experience no negative effects from seeing my own pulse, I actually emailed him about it last night to see if I could see him tomorrow, and I could. I also notice when I lay down I can still see my own pulse since I'm on the thinner side, but so far no fainting, excessive sweating, or dizziness.
I have an enlarged heart simply from training, which is not a heart issue. If I had an enlarged heart from high blood pressure, and seeing my own pulse like that, then I'd make sure I would have seen him that day.2 -

You did!! Someone without heart issues doesn't see a cardiologist. You may be unaware of or oblivious to your issues, but having a cardiologist means you have heart issues.
An enlarged heart is an enlarged heart, it's not normal. Even for professional athletes.
That being said, Seeing your pulse in surface vein/arteries isn't that unusual regardless of BF%.

Not normal, but not necessarily unhealthy. And fairly common among certain types of elite athletes.
