date someone who used to be fat? Does it matter? I'm just curious if this has an effect on how guys/girls think about people who have lost so much weight. Or like would you be put off when you find out that she/he used to be fat?0
-
I'm fat enough for both of us. She better not be above a size 2
Forgot to add the tears0 -
It would make no difference to me, other than that I'd admire them for that acomplishment.0

I'm not attracted to skinny dudes. Like the ones that look like Ken doll and have those indentations above their legs by the groin. Ewww! Or their abs protruding. That's why I love love my husband. He's not skinny or fat, has stalky shoulders and a little squishy tummy. I love iT!!!

Wonderful! I thought I was the only woman who found that V above the groin off-putting! ]As for me, I like men with meat on their bones, cuddly bear sort of guys. NOT ripped/cut/swole/body-builder guys, at all.0 -
I'm pretty shallow, not going to lie. I would date someone who used to be heavy, but probably not morbidly obese because of how many health issues there could potentially be, and if he's recovered from being morbidly obese, he'll probably want me to quickly recover as well, which I've been trying to do for 4 years, without much success. If I was in the dating game now, I would not date someone who was currently fat. There are too many health problems I do not want to deal with in a potential BF. Moderately overweight, sure probably, but not FAT.0

I dated someone who was very skinny, and then proceeded to turn fat by gaining over 30 lbs. And no, we stayed together and it didn't bother me one bit. Bothered her though, so she worked it off and is now at her former weight, except in better shape. :drinker:
To all those who said it would make a difference....that's pretty sad. I've never been remotely overweight (bodyfat wise) and I can't even judge.0 -
Has helped me get laid many times lol
Yes I would0 -
-
Ew, why would I ever do that? If they were fat before, they could become fat again!!
LOL
No it wouldn't matter to me so yes I would.0 -
As long as there isn't excess skin from it, sure.0
-
Of course I would. I'm married, but if I was single it wouldn't matter what their weight used to be or is. If I had a connection with someone, their past or current weight wouldn't change that at all. My husband went through a period where he was big in high school. It doesn't matter to me at all. I love him, not what weight he is or was.
Edit: I forgot. Is this something you're worried about? Or just curious about? If you're concerned I don't know many people who would be bothered by it, so don't worry if that is the case.
Worried and curious! I was just wondering how people perceive women who have lost a significant amount of weight. Especially the guys! And as expected, it is a mixture of reactions. Lol0 -
I'm a pretty aesthetic person, so if I'm being completely honest, it depends on how much excess skin they have =/
That doesn't change the amount of respect I have and honor I give them for doing something good for themselves, though.
Very honest answer!0 -
Yes, it is a testament to there ability to commit to things and follow through with the work needed to achieve it. Those are things that are needed in a successful relationship.
Good point!0 -

used to be? I dated a guy recently who was 315 pounds and I'm 123 pounds. So, I dated him while he was heavy. Its more about personality to me.0

...
As for me, sure, why not, if I'm attracted to him? I've dated some hefty guys and I've dated skinny guys and everywhere in between. I've been with my SO for eight years now, so unless we break up, I won't be dating anyone currently or formerly fat because that would be cheating.0 -

Awww! Good for her and yay to you too for not letting it bother you. Yeah, it's sad but to each their own!0 -

It is for me too but I'm just curious if people really react differently to people when they find out they used to be overweight.0 -
I don't care in the slightest. Even if they're "fat" now, if I like them, I like them.0
-
Of course. This is coming from someone who is recently single and formerly morbidly obese. In fact I think it'd be nice to date someone who has been down the road I've been down.
It doesn't come up very often in conversations at bars, however, considering that I don't usually wear my "former fatty" tee-shirt out in public.0 -

This!
I date person because of how she is, how she makes me feel, not because of her weight.
Kinda pointless question if you ask me, unless you are really superficial
It was out of concern and curiosity. Some guys would be like, "oooh she's hot." Then he finds out she used to be fat and would look at her in another light like "eeeew, once a fatty always a fatty. She'll probably put it all back on." then moves on to another girl.
Some guys are mean. Lol but some would be like, "Oh wow, she lost the weight. Great determination." *Gets more interested*0 -

I totally agree with this. It *would* be nice! They know how it feels!0 -

Used to be is no more different than is, to me. *shrugs*0 -
Depends on the action!
I'm a dirty birdie so being a freak is all that matters.
Well, that, and looks.0 -

Dirty birdie! LOL very honest!0 -
I used to be fat, and I'd sure hope that anyone I'm dating is looking at me NOW, and not who I used to be.0
-
That would make absolutely no difference to me. Plus, it'd be a bit hypocritical, considering I've been overweight myself before.
Even if my bf gained weight now, I wouldn't mind...It'd make him more cuddly, anyway. Muscles are nice, but it can be like cuddling a brick wall :laugh:0 -

Haha I have to disagree...Muscles here and I'm quite comfortable, I promise :P0
