Hi. I'm in. I have about the same amount to lose. I am 153 heading to 125-130 (Short girl tho).16

I'm in! I'm at 178 wanting to be 150ish.9

What’s working for me lately is eating a lot of veggies at lunch, no meat, coffee with sugar substitute, water. Absolutely no beer and sodas, and La Croix or diet soda if I need fizz.
Activity-wise I am getting walks outside, stationary biking, and sometimes bodysquats or push ups when I can, just standing even helps since I sit at work all day.
I used to bike to work and started commuting via car last fall, it’s done so much harm and I’ve really had enough of this bad feeling.9 -
Same here! I'm 150 needing to be 125. I've made similar food changes like you. You can do it!9

Got a two-mile walk in with wristweights and did some bleachers. If you’re able to walk or ride sometimes add weight in a backpack that helps kick it up a notch.7

Same here!! I weighed in at 195!! Would love to get down to 170. Day 2 of counting calories. Last time I was on this app, I lost 19 lbs. been walking on my lunch at work. Drinking lots of water, black coffee, fruits and veggies. Seeds and nuts.12

Hello everyone. I'm in. I'm ultimately looking to lose 75 lbs, but 25 is a more realistic goal to achieve by the summer. I'm highly motivated this time around as my doctor tells me on the borderline for type II diabetes and started me on meds. I hate meds, so I'm going to do whatever it takes to get things back under control.17

Good, this is a good first step. Let’s make this happen.3

I'm in. Best of healthy luck to everyone! Trying to lose 40 pounds5

I was 280, now I'm 253, going for 225 by Aug/Sept
Let's do this, i believe in all of you12 -
Weighed myself 4 times to make sure it was right. Making progress! Post an update with food, exercise, or results.4

I'm in too! I lost almost 50 pounds on here 3 1/2 years ago and have put 25 back on. Would love to lose it all but would be happy with 20.4

What brought you success before?0

Day is going well so far, it’s getting easier to make wiser eating decisions now that I’m publicly accountable. Had leftover boiled vegetables from and Irish boil, Asian chopped salad with Tahini dressing, and La Croix. I may not get time to exercise later but will try to get at least 5-10 min on the bike. Hope you are all doing well today!2

I have lost 25lbs so far, I'm about half way to my goal weight. What has worked for me is keeping myself accountable and keeping track of every single thing I eat. I eat approximately 1300 calories per day. I have done very minimal exercise (basically none, with the occasional 10-20min walk). I allow myself "cheat" days occasionally when I feel like I need a break from keeping track. I eat foods that I love (including full fat dairy, white bread, pizza, pasta, etc.)! I just make sure that whatever I eat ends up to be 1300 calories at the end of the day.
Losing weight doesn't have to be miserable! Do what works for you. Eat the types of food you like, just smaller amounts. Do activities that you like if you want to burn some calories off. If you hate biking, you won't be motivated to do it. But if you love walking, do that!
I hope the best for all of you! It's not easy at first getting used to eating less, but it is SO worth it in the end!14 -
Indeed, total restraint and deprivation doesn’t work. Sensible portions are key.1

I would love to join. I have been checking in for the last 50 days. Logging sometimes. But some friendly chit chat and how's your day going and some accountability may do me some good. I'm about 200 right now and would be happy at 160-170 with some muscle.5

Seeing everyone talking about improving food choices and increasing activity but not a lot about logging and really dialing in the quantity of food consumed. Not to say that the former aren't noble pursuits and generally advisable to be generically "healthier" individuals, though in my experience focusing on the latter makes a much bigger difference in moving the scale in the preferred direction.
- Get a food scale, use it fanatically
- Habitually log everything you eat/drink, completely and precisely
- Eat at the appropriate deficit for the weight you have to lose and do so consistently7 -
Please don’t hesitate to partake. I am finding it helps a lot so far.1

Steve, I assume people are using the app to track calories and activity rigorously in addition to posting here. I may not have explicitly said it but I am definitely doing that and measuring portions if it’s not already in the default serving size listed in the app.1

That's great that you're already doing that; I was speaking generically as that's not always the case. It still surprises me sometimes the number of users who post a "help! I've been doing everything right and not losing weight" post only to come to find out they don't use a food scale, and only log foods Monday-Thursday, or not weekends, snacks, alcohol, etc.5 -
I'm about 2 weeks in with almost the same amount to lose. Good luck!2

I’d like to join you guys!!!3

Hey! I need to lose around 25 and would love to join in this!!! I've used the log previously but never got into the chat features.1
-
I was 125 cals over my limit yesterday. I didn’t get my walk in. While it’s a bit of a slip up, I guarantee that it’s still less than my typical daily intake.1
-
I'm up for this challenge. I'm new so don't know what to do next. How do you stay connected to help motivate each other? Just follow the thread? How do you add friends so you're able to chat outside the thread? Thanks for your help.3
