Almost time to renew my license ... How big should I lie?

Just wondering what thoughts are on the topic. It seems silly to put my true weight when I am confident that I will be lighter by the time my license arrives. ... So what if I subtract 20 or 30 pounds?
I have lost over 50 since last September and am still going strong! About 20 pounds from where I normally get stuck, but I am hopeful that I won't get stuck this time, now that my underactive thyroid and arthritis are under control.

Lol, yes it is bad. But it also feels like a lie when I know I'll be almost 10 lb lighter by the time I get my license in the mail. Which makes me wonder if I should just subtract 10 lb so it will be about right when I get it.0

I agree it doesn't really matter. I would put down my true weight.

Depends. Do they use the demographic information on your license for emergency situations? If it is just the gov't being nosy do w/e you want, I would just make sure it doesn't have some relevant use.0

Ha ha, no we don't have our weights on them. i am about to change my address on mine and will probably change the photo too as i am 185lbs lighter than the last photo. ( our photos are valid for 10yrs i think, and just an address change usually means we don't need to send new pics)1 -

I say go all out! Tell them you’re nine feet tall, 372 pounds, with purple eyes, green and orange feathers instead of hair, and a tail that regenerates when it’s cut or bitten off!
I think you could really have fun with this. I love getting my new license! Don’t even get me started on passport renewal. LOL!!!1 -
I'd be honest about it, unless you're really close to your goal. However, no one who looks at your license will know or care if the weight is 10 pounds different. I didn't get a new driver's license until I had reached my goal of 100 pounds lost, and no one who looked at my license ever mentioned it until I was down about 75 pounds. I think I got a total of two comments about my old license.0

I lie about my hair color all the time. Bald isn't an acceptable choice, so they force me to lie.0

I have always lied about mine!! Usually by like 70 lb, call it denial or whatever! I had 200 on there for years when I was between 270-300.
The last time I renewed my license (in 2013) I was at 189 but on track to lose quite a bit more still so I said 170. Lying by just 19 lb seemed so minor to me! Now I am at 170, and have been slightly lower at times.0 -

Just move to New York, New Jersey, or Florida. None of the states in which I have lived include weight on their licenses.0 -

I was actually thinking that if they do use it for emergency situations, that is even more reason to say something too low. ... I have no intention of updating my weight again in the next 6 years unless somebody makes me. I sure wouldn't want to be overdosed on something!

In oklahoma I think everyone finds their healthy bmi and lists a weight somewhere in that range. Seems about right.1

I love having my old weight on my license, it reminds me how far I've come. If anyone thinks it's too heavy, I just tell them I'm all muscle.1

They use the weight, height, eye color, hair color as a way to determine your identity ( how you look) . Let's say that someone obtains your info and applies for a license. They will have your picture, your weight, your height, age, eye color, hair color listed so they can determine if the person applying for that license is indeed you. It's basically used just like your height and hair color is. Not one thing alone is a determining factor but when they are all put together, it paints a pretty good picture of what you look like.
It is also sometimes used in emergency situations.
Where do you live that they mail you a license? I get mine on the spot at DMV. Maybe I read your post wrong though.0 -
Give your true weight so later you can show people how big you were0

In my state they used to mail them, then gave them to you on the spot, and now I think they mail them again. States seem to vary pretty widely on this stuff.0 -

We don't get asked for weight here on licenses but the emergency thing...makes sense to not lie. I sometimes think about "what would I say my weight is if I needed a SCUBA tank to breath and a set amount of oxygen, or if I was using a zip line" or something that weight makes a difference in your safety.
Weight isn't reflective of body composition anyhow. I have a friend who is the same height as me and weighs the same as me but looks at least 15 lbs lighter.
Like others have said, just update the info at a later time if you lose more weight.
Having said that, I've had 2 instances where people were taking down my stats and when they were listing my physical appearance they guessed aloud "eyes blue" and one "height 5'8" " (people always think I'm taller than I am) and I didn't correct them because I liked the idea of my stats being wrong!0 -

I am in a small town in Texas. I guess I should check if they changed, but last time I renewed they printed a temp paper that didn't even have my picture and I got the real license in the mail several weeks later.

renewing my license this August was part of my motivation to lose weight. Seeing that fat face on the license & my son always amused by it pissed me off. Down 40 so far, hoping to hit 60 by end of July when we go to Wrigley Field.0
